Margaret notified all the animals and plants to keep a lookout and trap the culprit that dared to enter her territory without her permission. The dark magic that had been used was the same as the one that was used to destroy the bells. Which could only mean one thing. The culprit was here, and it was close. Closer than Margaret had thought. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a flying shadow ball was hurled in Margaret's direction. Margaret dodged it just in time. Knowing that her location was exposed, she decided to make a run for it. Margaret put up her evacuation spell, giving the houses legs to move on its own, without Margaret needing to teleport or waste energy. She figured the culprit must've known her different locations and that if she teleported, her energy would be wasted and she wouldn't be able to fight. The enemy, she knew was powerful enough to destroy her house with her running right next to it. You might've thought, why she wouldn't grab her flying broom and fly away? Why it's because the witches of this generation didn't need to learn since the dark ages were over. No need to drop spells in bottles or trying to escape from the mortals. But what worried Margaret the most was the fact that this witch decided to break the sisters code. No witch, whether good or bad shall try and kill another witch. That was the code and for any witch to disobey it, they would have to be burned to death, with no last meal available to them and no court. It's the reason why the witches co-operated so well. Non were planning on having a painful death, while others didn't want to leave those that they love, behind.
So why try and kill another fellow witch. It confused Margaret so much, That, it made her question if fighting would be necessary? It would be considered as self-defense, but because she was a nature witch, the court and the other witches would most probably take this mysterious figure side. Leaving Margaret as the main culprit and leading the other witches to question her trust and her abilities. Margaret knew she was almost to the other spot, with the forest's animals running side by side with her, and the figure behind her. Her house was ahead of all of them; however, it didn't bother Margaret. Out of nowhere, a shadow ball the size of a dustbin hit one of the trees. Birds took to the sky, as another one was sent and again hit one of the trees. This was Margaret's home. A place of wonder and magic. She had to defend it, in a way that would not kill the figure and would not harm the creatures of the forest. Under breath, she whispered the words of a spell, she learned back in Grade 5.
She made vines with thorns as sharp as needles grow from the ground, making a net that divided the culprit and Margaret. This was natures barrier. The thorns contained poison, that would paralyze anything that would touch the tip. The vines grew if more, when the figure tried to destroy it. Not noticing that the more it destroyed, the more the vines and thorns grew. This was the head start the animals of the forest needed. To move away from the danger and closer to safety. The spot which Margaret found, was more closed and more heavily defensed. Once inside the area, the magical barriers will go up, not stopping until the house was fully defended with anyone inside. As the barrier lifted, Margaret looked behind and noticed that the mysterious figure had figured out how to get around the poisonous barrier. Margaret just made in time past the barrier, but the figure was close by. Margaret turned around and shouted out the magical words of the spell, that caused a massive explosion of light that blinded anything and anyone who came into it's path.
The figure stumbled backwards, making its hood darker on the inside darker with shadows. The figure wasn't expecting the light to be that bright. They were prepared but not enough, especially since the brightness still managed to pierce through the darkness in the hood. Margaret looked through the barrier, trying to see if she could look through the figures spell of darkness, but the power in the spell was increased and Margaret noticed it.Margaret shouted out to it, asking the one question which had been bothering her the whole time. Why? Of all the things, why did it decide to become a destroyer? The figure merely stayed quiet and didn't move. She felt its eyes upon her, starring for a full 5 seconds. Almost like it was studying her and how far she'll go through to catch them. Margaret also studied the figure. Watching its posture, its position in which it stood and anything that showed some skin or something that will lead her to clues. Even eye color would be enough. Before Margaret could think any further, the culprit disappeared into a shadow. Most shadow witches new this as shadow walking. No spells were needed, it was all the mind itself, imagining where it wanted to go. That was the mistake Margaret made. Her barrier only locked physical beings and creatures out. However once something gets through the barrier, there is no going out. Margaret knew about shadow walking and how it makes your body non-physical. She knew it was a battle to the end since her barrier became a see-through ring.
Her spell book was out levitating by her side, opening to the pages of combat spells. Her combat training wouldn't be enough since it wasn't a mortal she was fighting, but another powerful witch. There was one advantage Margaret had, and she knew when and how to use it. When the figure came from behind, Margaret acted quickly and shot a lighting at them. The shadows hated light, so it made sense for her to use spells that required light, to weaken the shadows attacks. Sent about four shadow balls, all aiming at Margaret except for one, which hit the barrier that surrounded the house. Margaret knew that the culprit wanted her trapped and maybe tortured. But she had more tricks up her sleeve, more than the culprit realized. She was going to show this witch, just who she was messing with. Margret threw light balls and streams of light. While the figure used shadow balls and shadow walked dodging some of the attacks, but also letting the shadows getting hit.Throughout this battle and their hood was still covered by darkness, allowing no light to get through. Margaret produced more light and decided on a surprise attack. This time she made the same poisonous barrier of vines and shouted out the words of the bright light that she used before the shadowy figure could get through the barrier. This time she made herself float, and as the light produced into a giant ball of light, almost as big as Moon, she launched it straight into her perpetrator. The explosion of light that was caused could have caused everybody in and out the forest blind. But thanks to the barrier, it stayed within it. Margaret recalled hearing a scream coming from the figure, but when she came back down to the ground. She found nothing. They had escaped without a trace, again. Margaret hoped that it taught that culprit a lesson.
