It happened on a humid, Friday night. We were all sitting around the campfire, singing some songs when all of the sudden, Maria's eyes turned glassy and she started screaming in pain. Her clothes suddenly lit up like they were on fire. Everyone ran to help her but Chiron, the camp director, told everyone not to touch her. Her scream was made of agony and the most horrific pain you could imagine. Everyone was asking Chiron what was happening and he said that Maria's father was claiming her. Finally, after 15 minutes, the screaming stopped and Maria collapsed. She had burn marks all over her clothes and her skin was a bright red. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, sprayed some water on her face and Maria woke up coughing. She asked what happened and Chiron said, "We know who you father is." Maria gasped. Chiron announced, "Everyone, please welcome Maria, daughter of Apollo."
