Sarah woke up the next morning with the bracelet in her hand and her face wet with tears. She supposed she had cried herself to sleep that night because she did not remember much after finding the box. Sarah got out of her bed and went into the bathroom that led from her room to the other bedroom in the house that they used as a guest room. The door to the guest room was kept shut most of the time unless she was cleaning it and then she would leave it open to air it out. But this morning when she went into the bathroom the door was open. Sarah didn't think much of it because the police had done a thorough search throughout the entire house and she figured they had just forgotten to close it back when they were finished.

Sarah walked into the guestroom and looked around. everything looked the same but just like the whole house it seemed different. There was a new feeling to it. The house was changed in a way that Sarah couldn't quite explain in anyother words other than "different." Then she noticed it. The drawer to the berau was open with its contents thrown all over the floor. Suddenly She realized what JUlian kept in that drawer: his life savings. No matter how many time she had tried to get him to put it in the bank he said that he never trusted those people behind the glass windows.

She dialed "911" and waited for the dispatch officer to answer the phone. Sarah paced back and forth across the room while the dial tone droned  on until she finally got an answer: "this is 911 what is your emergency?" Sarah took a deep breath before answering "Hello, this is Sarah Hartley, i just found one of he rooms in my house with a drawer rummaged through and i assure you i did not do it and forget as you suggested when my husband was kidnapped," Sarah snapped, before the dispatcher could say anything in response.

the night that Sarah had called in a missing persons report for her husband the police had asked her one thing: "Are you sure that you didn't just forget where he is?" But they became much less sceptical about her caling after a week had past of her calling daily. The search began after that but to no avail.

As Sarah thought about the last 911 call she made the police pulled into the driveway. The chief of police, Daniel Borring, knocked on the door. "come in," Sarah yelled from down the hall. Chief Borring walked calmly into the guest room. "what seems to be the problem Miss Sarah?" he said with a southern twang that only he could pull off in this town. Sarah motioned around the room at all of the stuff thrown from the dresser. "Um. okay. and the problem is...?" Chief Borring asked without the slightest bit of concern in his voice. "i didn't do this. I walked in here because the door was open and this is how it was. Julian kept all of his savings in this drawer. They're gone," Sarah said as calmly as she possibly could. "Alright. i'll call in the investigation team and see if they can find any fingerprints. Was last night your first night in the house since...," He trailed off cautiously as if not wanting to say the words. "Since Julian was kidnapped? Yes it was, why?" Sarah didn't think that it could have any ties to her husband's kidnapping until Daniel brought it up. Dan and Julian had been close friends and it was a bit awkward for both of them. He had been the cheif investigator in the case from the beginning and sometimes the only reason she kept sane.

Dan pulled his walkie-talkie from his belt and brought it to his mouth quickly. "Yeah, i need the investigating crew up here at Hickory Lane, Sarah and Julian's house," Borring said. "You're going to have to go back to your hotel room for a little while. Just in case There is any connection to Julian's kidnapping. We'll check for any forced entering but since there wasn't any last time we might not find anything. the investigators are on their way to look for any evidence and they're going to have to question you again," Dan said. He looked at her and seeing how scared she was gave her a comforting hug. "It's probably not the same person. But if it is this may give us some clues to where Julian is," he said into her hair. Sarah nodded but didn't let go. This was the most safe that she had felt since the kidnapping and she needed it desperately.
