The group sits in the study and discuss what the night arrangements are going to be.
"There's gotta be plenty of rooms upstairs that we can sleep in," Steve says leaning against the door frame, "the girls can stay in one room, and we'll stay in one close to it."
Bub nods in agreement, his mind still mulling over the fact that there's a deaf body sitting in the kitchen.
"I'm starving," Tiffany says, her voice barely more than a whisper.
"I saw a pantry, I would think there's food in it," y/n shrugs, "but we'd have to go in the kitchen to get it."
"I'm not going in there," Amber shudders.
"Okay so I'll go in there," y/n says getting to her feet.
"You gonna go in there with the body?" Tiffany looks at her in horror.
"I've seen my fair share of dead bodies, Spas," she sighs, "not every house that I helped people get into was empty."
"I'm sorry," Bub says, his eyes holding sympathy.
"Don't be," she shrugs, "it's all part of life."
"I'll come with you," Steve offers, "we don't need anyone being alone."
"Right," y/n nods.
The pair head for the pantry, leaving the other three in the study.
Minutes pass as Bub stares at the fire place, watching as the flames lick at the brick surrounding it.
"I don't wanna die here," Tiffany's voice comes in a whisper again.
Bub turns to her where she sits on the couch next to him.
"Hey you're not gonna die," he says putting a hand on one of her raised knees, "no one else is gonna die, I promise. Okay?"
She sniffs and nods, wiping away a stray tear.
She's terrified. She's never seen a dead body before. She's never seen a murder. All that she can think about is how it could have been her.
It nearly had been her.Nathan and Tiffany head in the same direction, being that Tiffany was frightened and not quite ready to be completely alone in the unfamiliar halls. The pair comes to the end of the hall where it splits into two new halls going opposite each other.
"I'll take the left you take the right?" Tiffany asks the dark haired boy.
He looks down the halls before speaking.
"Why don't you take the right, it has more windows to let in more light," he says looking down the left hall, "I'll take this one."
Tiffany looks between the halls again and notices he's right. The right hall is much more lit with the moon shining through.
"Okay, thanks," she nods giving him a small smile and he returns it with a large one.
The two split off. Tiffany glances back at the boy after a dozen steps or so before continuing on her way.
She continues down the hall as it turns and twists until she hears a blood curdling scream.
She runs towards it, finding herself coming out two halls over from Bub.
If she had gone down the left hall, it would have been her laying on the kitchen floor with a knife through her throat.
"Maybe we should move him," y/n says as Steve and her enter the kitchen.
