"Where are we heading at?" We kept jumping on branches in the middle of the forest but I still haven't received any answers from him. My breathing became faster since I get tired as well. But for this guy, his breaths were still calm. I could not read him.
He's cold and plain, I could really feel a similar presence of Sasuke on him but this man's presence was way more plain and serious. His hand was still gripping on my wrist tightly that I could not even resist. I don't have any plan to halt him in the first place due to my fear.
At last, he decided to stop on a branch, his cloak slowly danced with the wind.
"Those thieves probably went to target the Hidden Grass. It's the nearest Village one can travel from the Hidden Leaf within just half a day," he stated as he roamed his eyes everywhere. I remained silent and gave him a nod.
I almost wanted to look away when he gazed at me. "If I were you, you shall forget that deal. It wasn't your fault that he lost that. His choice was to save you, you didn't push him to lose that item in the first place."
From his words, I looked away because I could not tolerate the thought he constructed in my head. That wasn't justifiable for me.
I gritted my teeth. "B-But, he wouldn't have lost that if I was so strong enough to fight the foes. I was the reason of this deal I'm conquering." I closed my eyes and my shoulder jumped when a hand tapped my head.
In front me, was a serious face of a man who was staring at my eyes. "Did he blame you because of his loss?" he questioned me with a plain tone.
I breathed in a tight way, it's like I was suffocated by his heavy presence. "N-No. He did not."
"But doing an action just because I was blamed by him wasn't my reason to do this. I felt guilty by myself. And it's my own choice to get that back. Sasuke---Sasuke really valued that headband."
I did not know what reaction flashed across his eyes. I know that he understood Sasuke's reason to value such an item from his family. He's a part of Sasuke's life until now.
"I wonder how will Sasuke face me if he was surrounded by genuine friends like you?" He brushed my pink hair and let it go. I stared at him. "Genuine friend?"
"You are what I was referring. I wonder how will Sasuke fight me if he had someone who blame themselves, someone who cries from the others' problems and someone who recklessly take a step without thinking that much, right?"
I became a statue in front of him, my chest tightened as I keep sinking his words in my mind. That hit me so bad. I could not label that as a compliment of an accusation. It's like he blamed me if Sasuke will have the hesitation to kill him sooner.
But being called genuine, felt light. Coming from an enemy.
I clenched my fist. "If... If you felt dissapointed that your brother grew up with kind people like us, then do not get surprised if he could not kill you soon. Kindness wasn't the basis of one's strength in the first place. It's determination," I told to him that made him tower himself in front of me. I raised my head to dart a gaze on his eyes.
"Big words from a little girl, like you."
"No matter how much Sasuke will suffer from killing you one day, he was so determined. Just like me, today! I may not be blamed by him for his loss from that headband, I was determined to take it back, it's my will!" I clenched my fist and showed it to him.
He only stared at me, we made a staring contest while the wind became stronger. I parted my lips due to how surprised I was when he just smiled at me.
