Reaching home Ayana sat on the edge of her bed with her head in her hands. What have she done...
She was positive that it was just physical attraction and nothing more but she felt something for him. This cannot be happening. Not again. She can't afford to go through all of that again. He was her boss after all, nothing can happen between them even if she wanted it to. She tried to forget about the kiss hoping that he didn't see it as anything more than that as well. Just a kiss.

To the contrary, he was now standing in front of his huge mirror in his penthouse removing his tie thinking about it. Staring at his lips in his reflection, he was trying to make sense of the electrical surge that flowed through his veins. He have never been affected this much by a kiss ever before. He was curious.

The sun was rising and Ayana was at her desk staring at a blank page of her journal not knowing what to write. Slamming her journal shut with a huge force, she decided to get ready for the day. She was in no mood to look good. Looking somewhat presentable, she made her way to her work place.
Reaching at the building, she stopped by Lizzie's floor to talk to her about what had happened.

"What?! You've got to be kidding me!" Lizzie gasped
"I know.. I know. It's just.. I got lost in the moment. Arrghh what do I do now?" Ayana whined.
"Dude, he probably kisses about a hundred girls a day. Trust me, it isn't a big deal. Just pretend like nothing happened. I'm positive he would do the same" Lizzie explained.
Lizzie's words stung her a little but she was right. A kiss would mean nothing to a man like him. She needed to stop making it into something it isn't.
"Yeah... you're right. I'm reading too much into this" Ayana nodded.
"Of course I'm right!"
Feeling better, she made her way to her desk.

After a while, the elevator dinged. Ayana was determined to look unaffected so she fixed her eyes to her computer screen planning to completely ignore him. He walked out of the elevator and when he saw her his heart skipped a beat. He was hoping that she would greet him with a beautiful smile on her face like she always does, but today she didn't. Feeling slightly let down, he made his way into his office. He noticed that she has already prepared his coffee and schedule and set it on his desk. Sighing, he took a sip of his coffee and fixed his attention on his work.

They were both very occupied with work for the rest of the day barely talking to each other. Soon it was 5pm and Mr Rogers heard a soft knock on his door.
"Come in".
Ayana walked in, her gaze fixed on the floor. Without a single word, she handed a few documents for him to sign. He took the pen from her, all while studying her face intently. He got nothing. Her eyes were fixed on the documents and she barely blinked. When he finished signing, she snatched the pen from him and turned around quickly to leave. She stopped at her tracks when he said "You're leaving now?" Looking over her shoulder she gave a slight nod.
"Can we talk for a moment?" he asked hopefully.
She turned back around to face him, this time her eyes were on him. She swallowed hard. Just looking at him did things to her.
"About what happened yesterday...." he begin.
Knowing exactly where the conversation is going, Ayana cut him off "It meant nothing. Don't worry about it" scarily convincing and before he could say anything she was out the door.

Feeling his heart break a little, he made a call to the flower shop down the street and cancelled the order he made to be sent to her apartment.

Time skip~

Three weeks went by with nothing from her. She barely looked at him. Anytime he would try to make conversation, she would cut him short. He even saw her going for lunch with a guy a few times and he would catch her smiling at her phone every now and then. He was losing hope. He tried to distract himself with other girls and it worked for the most part or at least that's what he told himself.
