Wow. How did I not understand that someone was at the door? Someone who never knew at the first place that I am a guest here. This is not my VR mansion that I behave however I like.

When she shoved me, it felt like as if an elephant was charging me, not meaning to insult her though. I was bewildered, baffled and was in a trance-like state at how much strength that petite and small figure could hold.

I definitely underestimated the powers she held. While, I am totally petrified by her strength, she used her pointer finger to break my bewildered stance.

I quickly nodded, the knocks were getting louder, as if it was urgent or the person might break off the door or something. That time, I had second thoughts on escaping. My inner man told me stay put and face whatever is coming and not cower away into hiding.

Sometimes, even I wanted to do that but my rash decisions might affect mine, my own family. Not just that, maybe the stalker might come after her. I know I am being extremely selfish and I will not be able to pay her back with all I have, but I am still greedy to have her support.

I feel guilty for trapping in the blackmailing game of mine. I feel so culpable. I really do. I wanted to stay but I cannot because that will ruin the plan she made, at least I do not want to ruin her brilliant plan.

I saw her bringing a forced smile on her face while making sure her eyes looked dull, however, there was an emotion swirling through her eyes, something similar to confusion.

This indicates she has no idea on who could be at the door. Thinking back, maybe it was her guy best friend and his wife, her bestie as she said.

Slamming the door open, only I knew she slightly pulled the door, a man revealed to be in late thirties. A three o'clock shadow on his chin, brown orbs, a deep coffee color. Fit as hell, his uniform indicates he is a police officer.

That man was not as tall as me, quite shorter, if I am six feet two than he is, maybe somewhere around, five feet six. But he sure as hell was handsome.

"Sorry, but I got caught-" she was snubbed by the male  at the door. "I swear I heard a male voice, who was here? Are you hiding something?" the male voiced his thoughts, thoughts full of suspicion.

And, that moment, I thought I was caught. If he did catch me, seemingly, the way he talked and pushed past her to check of any signs of danger, made it clear that he was definitely a friend.

"Kabir?" I asked, baffled. What is this situation now? This is so awkward. Why does she have so many male friends? I mean I respect gender equality but so far, I have seen her being so comfortable with opposite gender.

Why am I bothered? I do not care. I focused on them. They locked eyes and it seemed like, to them, time stopped. They kept on looking at each other. The fact that he was the same male who I had caught her with, did not make it any more gross.

The feeling, the emotion that swirled around her eyes were pure love. Something, every lover craved for, but the male was a whole different concept.

His eyes showed care, affection but no love, instead it was confusion. The romantic exchange, to them, ended soon enough. The male whose name is Kabir looked away and that was when it broke.

A slight blush crept on her cheeks and she had a shy grin plastered on her face. That moment I knew that for her, it was more than just friendship. Lovestruck puppy.

I think she forgot the situation. But she seemed to immediately realise it, after Kabir, as his name is, asked yet again, "I think I heard a malevolent voice, but there seems to be no one. Was someone here? Or are you hiding something?" the look of love was replaced by realisation.

Seems like realisation hit her like a truck. Her eyes widened and she immediately looked towards my direction, stupid! I immediately shifted to another side.

If this continues, I will surely get caught. I hissed in annoyance. Silently.
"No!" she stated a bit too quickly, "I mean there is no one, anyways why are you here again?" she answered, a hint of nervousness audible, yet she did not fail to change the subject.

"O-oh, that, uh, ok if there is no one here, actually, I had duty in this area and thought to check up on you." Why did he stammer? Ok.

"Sweet of you, would you like to stay for a bit or leave for your duty?" she asked sweetly but I knew better. She was trying to chase him out politely. She was saying get out in a much sweeter and polite way.

"No, I will have to leave but can I have a glass of water?"  Oh no! Tables turned. She gulped and nodded hesitantly. She was taking steps and was approaching me.

Ok, she was close but she immediately rushed her actions and in the process hitting me with her heels. That hurted! I covered my mouth to stop the groan that could have escaped and would have kept that officer on alert

She should have been more careful! This is paining so much, just how strong is she?! My palms ache. I glared at her, as much as I am terrified of her strength but she still never harmed me. That gave me some peace that she was not so dangerous until she hit me, accidentally. Today.

She looked down with an apologetic look. She rushed out. I hissed, why is it hurting so much?

Offering the glass of water to him, the male, Kabir, gulped it down in one go. I saw her drooling over him. Get your shit together, woman! I mentally shouted at her.

Have some shame, woman! He calls you his friend. Maintain that relation! She has me speechless there. I now, pray for the male to god. Maintaining kinship is, I do not think so, is an option from her side.

Why would she drool over something like drinking water? That woman is mad, I swear on it.

When he gets up, keeping the glass on the table, the next thing he does, renders me speechless.

"Come out, whoever you are" he called out taking a turn of a whole 180° degree towards the kitchen island.

How? How the hell did he know?!
