Of course, when I got back to the Gryffindor common room, Hermione was sitting on one of the couches, wide awake, with a grouchy Ron Weasley beside her. Did I mention that it was 9 am on a Saturday? Yeah, well, Hermione's always up early, even on weekends. She's always going on and on that 'Just because it's the weekend doesn't mean that you have to sleep in, and we have to wake up early to do homework anyways. If we do it in the morning then we can have the whole day to do whatever we want'. Well, me and Ron don't like getting up early. Ron especially hates it, so she has to come up to the boys dormitory and wake us up. Obviously when she went to wake us today, she realized I wasn't there, so to sum it up I was screwed.
When the portrait door opened both Ron and Hermione's heads snapped up to see who it was.
"Harry!" Hermione screamed, as she jumped up and ran over to give me a hug, which I returned. Then she pulled away and started attacking me with question such as "Where were you, why are you covered in scratches, and why does it look like you have a tree in your hair?" and that's when I noticed that I indeed had a bunch of leaves and twigs in my extremely messy hair.
"Went for I a morning walk" I lied.
"Well that doesn't explain why you all those leaves in your hair".
"I tripped and fell in a bush" I said lamely, and Hermione just shook her and said that I 'needed to be more careful' then asked why I was up so early. 'That question I don't have an answer' I said to myself, but luckily Ron saved me by saying "Oh, give the guy a break Hermione, it's 9 am".
"Fine," she said "let's start our homework then." At that, both me and Ron groaned, and Hermione shook her head at our behavior. With that we started our homework, only to have Ron complain that he's hungry a few minutes later. So we headed down to the Great Hall for breakfast, and as Ron was loading his plate full of food, my eyes did a search across the Slytherin table. Sure enough, there he sat, Draco Malfoy. He must have realized that I was staring, because he caught my eye and winked, and then continued his conversation with Blaise Zabini, who sat beside him. I turned bright red. Hermione looked at me with worry written all over her face.
"Are you alright Harry, you've been off all morning" and she reached over and laid her hand on my forehead. I nodded my head but then she asked "Are you sure, your forehead is hot, do you have a fever?"
"No, I'm just not hungry. I'm going to go get a head start on my homework". She nodded her head and said "We will meet you at the library".
"Alright" I say, but as soon as I exit the Great Hall and am sure that I am out of sight, I head down to the Black lake to clear my head, instead of heading to the library. Ever since Draco had winked at me, my head had been a mess, trying to figure out what that meant, because people don't just wink at other people for no reason, right? I don't know. I sit down at the edge of the lake and let all my thoughts run in my head. And then all of a sudden I hear footsteps and I turn around to see who it is, hoping that it is Draco, but instead it's...…..
