Run!
I could hear my mother's words ring in my head. The same sweet voice that she used to call my name with was now filled with terror. Before I could process her transition, I ran.
I'd never seen her this afraid. When she hugged me for the last time, I could feel her body shivering against mine. Her eyes were flooded with tears that she tried to contain. The only word that escaped her mouth was...
Run!
A zing of pain shot through my thighs everytime I clashed my leg against the hard surface of concrete. My lungs were gasping for air while I quickly exhaled with every step. But I couldn't stop... I have to...
Run!
The city lights looked like stars from a far away galaxy but nothing was beautiful. I could hear footsteps behind me, walking in sync. The never seemed to leave me behind. I don't know how long I've been running but the pain in my body indicated it had been a few hours and I still hadn't lost my chasers.
Run!
My head was crowded with so many questions. Where was my mother? What did they do to her? Why are they chasing me? Why do I need to run?
My head was hurting, my body was aching but the terror I saw in my mother's eyes made it clear that I had to run... And never get caught at any circumstances.
I wish someone was there. I'm tired... I'm tired of running.
My whole body had started shivering everytime I placed my foot on the ground. After all, how long could a fragile child with lack of experience in doing physical labor run for?...
The footsteps get closer and closer and my hope got weaker and weaker. My body was tired and my mind was exhausted. There was only one thing ringing in my ears...
Run!
I kept on moving even when my hope was shattering piece by piece. I felt like a twig that could break any moment but I had to go on...
Before I could take the next step further, I felt a hand wrap tightly around my mouth and pull me strongly to a quiet place under the ground. As soon as I was about to take action, I heard some noise above us.
There were scattered footsteps everywhere. I could make out that they were were heavy armed suits from the sound. It sounded as if they were inspecting the area to find me. I dared not to even breath or look behind me to see who brought me down here.
The footsteps disappeared after a while but the terror was still present. Someone was standing tall behind me. As soon as I tried to escape the place a hand covered my mouth and the other my waist. I twisted my body helplessly. When my tactics didn't work, I bit the hand as hard as I could.
"Argh! You fucking-" I turned around and saw the owner of the voice.
A woman with shaved head and buff body stood wounded in front of me. Her emerald eyes shone in the little dim light.
My vision slowly became clear. We were on a tunnel like place with dim lights lit with fire everywhere. There was no sign of water, only dried leaves which crunched every time it was stepped on.
I shifted my gaze back to the woman who took me and now she was wearing a gas mask. She slowly approached me. With each steps, my vision seemed to get blurry and my mind seemed to get dizzy. My consciousness was slowly leaving my body till I could feel nothing at all. The last thing I could feel was the cold concrete clashing against my soft pale skin...
