The Trip

I'm sitting in the booth chair of the camper while, Luna and Charles run along the tiny hallway between the beds and the booths into the back of the camper, where they are happily taping up a sheet of paper on the window. Jon is in the driver seat and looking back ever so often to make to that nobody is misbehaving and by nobody I mean me. I look back to see the piece a glimpse of the sheet, I get up to go see what it says and it hurt to read the words that were written by my twelve year old kids.
   "Worthless mother on board."

I sit back down as the keep running up and down the small pathing in the camper.
"Luna, Charles stop running around and sit down please," I say taking a glimpse at Jon hoping he wasn't about to pull over.

"We don't have to listen to a useless person like you, we want to keep running and we will," says Luna stopping in her tracks to speak
"YEAH! even dad says we don't have to listen to you!" Charles blurts out, their comments hurt but it's nothing I'm not used to as their mother and their floor mat.

Luna turns ans looks at her father and asks "Are we there yet dad?" He smiles and says "Not yet sweetie, we will be soon though." He glances at me removing the smile from his face glaring at me, I knew then and there I might have messed up.

He turns to the right onto a dirt road, surrounded by trees I look out the window when he stops and see trees everywhere "Why'd you stop? Whyd we bring the camper if we can't drive to the campsite?" I ask

"I didn't know there wasn't a path, looks like we'll have to walk to the campsite." He says looking at me
"We don't want to walk dad" our children say in unison, looking like they are ready to start throwing a tantrum.

I get everything ready to take to the campsite while I overhear Jon talking to the kids "It's not that far" he says before he looks over and starts whispering to the kids. They start to smile and look at me, which scares me more than my husband's anger.

                        Time Skip

We finally got to the campsite which was very far from the road, so I know that this isn't the campsite he was talking about cause "not that far" wouldn't have taken 2 hours to get there. I start to set everything up and then realize that Jon and the kids are going away from the campsite.

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?!" I yell looking at them thinking they are leaving me.

"I forgot something in the camper and the kids wanted to come with me to get it." He says as him and the kids get farther away

I finish setting up and spot next to the stuff we brought and see the thing Jon "forgot" in the camper and I instantly knew, these bitches left me in the fucking woods.
