His eyes were following a droppled chasing after loads of others in what seemed to be a race on who was the fastest and 1st to make it down the window.

A worried sigh left his lips...

Fingers wrapped tighter around the hot mug of tea in his hand and let the warmth seep through his fingerd and heat up his anxious body.

"Where was he?"

His eyes scanned over the dark and shimmery wet roads for a glimpse of a familiar figure but to no avail could find one. The wind was howling around the house, threes were shaken up and rain clattered hard against the windows but all Gulf was focusing on was that one person.

He was late.

He was never late...

The heat from the fireplace warmed up the room and Harzard was purring on the rug in front of it, oblivious to his daddy's worries.

Gulf tapped his fingers nervously against the windowframe and kept scanning the streets in hope to spot him. He had texted him he would be home on time but that had been an hour ago! And he wasn't responding to all the texts he had send him.

Maybe he was just held up by work suddenly. He wishes he wasn't so worried all the time but he had grown so attached to the man.His whole life suddenly resolved around him.

He woke up next to him, ate with him, showered with him, slept with him, loved him...

Gulf blushed at the last thoughts and he smiled at all the amazing memories they shared...

It took his mind of the worry he had for a bit.

His heart started beating faster and he squinted when he thought he saw a familiar dot still far from the house but it was rushing through the rain and nearing closer and closer.

"Mew?" He whispered and in a haste put his cup on the table and rushed to the door.

Hazard merely lifting his head.

Gulf reached the door and without thinking rushed out on bare feet in the pouring rain. He just hoped that who he had seen was Mew indeed. He was filled with worry!

"Mew!"

The figure looked up when he yelled that and his heart leaped in joy.

It was him!

"Gulf? What's wrong?!" Mew asked in worry and was just in time to catch Gulf who leaped into his arms and hugged him tight.

Mew held the umbrella above them but Gulf was already drenched so Mew quickly was soaked to the bone too. Mew held Gulf tightly against him one hand wrapped around his waist and face burried in his neck. He could feel Gulf’s heart beat erratically.

"I was so worried! Where were you!" Gulf whispered.

At that moment it clicked for Mew. He had texted him he would be home soon but he had made a detour to get his husbands favourite food and his phone had died before he could text him that. He had hoped it to be a surprise though...

But seeing Gulf like this wasn't worth it now...

"I'm so sorry babe... I got us diner. And my phone died." Mew apologised and stroked Gulf’s soaking wet hair and kissed his cheek.

Gulf looked up and stared at Mew.

"Don't EVER do that again." He scolded and slapped Mew’s chest which made Mew chuckle.

He loved when Gulf got worried about him, made him see that he was as much in love with him as he was.

He leaned in to connect their lips in a soft kiss and Gulf succumbed to it even though he was a little mad. He snuggled closer against Mew’s chest, his fingers tightened into his coat and he let Mew take charge of the kiss.

When their lips parted Mew smiled lovingly at Gulf and walked them back to the house, holding Gulf close against him.

Once inside they realized how wet and cold they were and Gulf was shivering in Mew's arms.

"Let's take a hot bath first before eating diner." Mew suggested hoping that Gulf would let him hop in with him, which was rare.

But to Mew’s surprise Gulf complied.

"I'm not letting you out of sight for another second. A-and you're just as soaked as I am..." Gulf mumbled as reason and a blush crept up his face.

They both knew that washing up wasn't the only thing that would happen in the tub...

Later, much later that night they were cuddled up in eachothers arms on the couch in front of the fireplace, hazard purring next to them and the wind howled and rain clattered against the windows outside.

❤ But this time it wasn't something of worry anymore...

because now they were safe in eachothers arms... ❤

The End 🌻☀️
