Oh, Anna

chapter 2

I was awakened to the feeling of someone harshly shaking me. I grunted and flipped over so that my back was facing whoever was shaking me. "Come on Sky, you have to get up," I heard a feminine voice call out to me. I gave another grunt and pulled the covers over my head. A sigh could be heard as footsteps walked away. As soon as I began to fall asleep again, the weight of an annoying younger sibling landed on me, causing me to groan in pain. I moved the covers from my face to reveal an amused Timi and a hysterically laughing Luna. "Fuck you, Luna," I said, which caused her to laugh even harder. I pushed Luna off me and swung my feet over to the side of the bed, rubbing the bridge of my nose in the process. "What time is it?" I asked Timi while rubbing my eyes. "It's 10:30 Sky and before you ask, yes Will sent us."

I got up and walked to the bathroom, Timi following closely behind after shooing Luna out of the room. "Do I have anything today Timi," I asked as I threw water in my face. "Unfortunately, you have a suitor coming in today." Timi replied sitting on a bench behind me. I groaned as I pushed myself away from the sink. "Where from," I asked with a sigh. "The Kithage Republic," Timi responded hesitantly. I turned to face her "why would someone from the Kithage Republic want to come to offer a hand in marriage? Didn't Will say that we are forever enemies?" All Timi gave was a shrug as she got up from her seat and walked to the closet. I turned back to the sink and looked up into the mirror hanging above it. I reluctantly pulled out the make-up from underneath the sink and began putting on my foundation.

"Hey, look on the bright side, at least you hopefully won't have another 'incident' now that you have Anna watching you 24/7," said Timi as she came out with a dress. "Don't remind me," I sighed, "that guy was trying to fuck me as soon as he laid eyes on me. I am pretty sure Luna would have murdered him if Cass didn't stop her in time." Timi chuckled as she hung the dress on the door. She walked towards me and I handed her the concealer. "Trust me, I am pretty sure that no one is gonna try anything now that Anna is around 24/7. She honestly scares me," Timi nervously chuckled as she began to put the concealer under my eyes. "She's not too bad," I said as Timi began to blend the concealer to the foundation. "Sky, you are aware that the only people who have seen her face are Will and some guards she is friends with, right?" Timi said. I shrugged, "so what, maybe she's just insecure or something." Timi sighed as she pulled out a contouring palette, "I hope you're right. Have you even talked to her?"

"I talked, she has only given me hand gestures," I sighed. Timi gave me a sympathetic smile as she continued her work. Once we finished the base of the make-up, I carefully brushed my teeth and combed my hair out. I went to go sit down on the bench once I finished and Timi followed with two eyeshadow palettes. "Do you want to do the normal, or do you wanna match the dress," Timi asked, lifting the respective palettes as she spoke. "Let's just do the normal look," I said and Timi nodded, placing the other palette next to me. As she began to start the eyeshadow look, I let my mind go through all of the past suitors and trying to picture what this one would look like. Before I knew it Timi was done and was pulling up and off the bench. She pulled down the dress she hung up before and I chuckled. "I see we are representing the Kingdom's colours today." The dress was long-sleeved and thick for the cold weather, it also consisted of varying shades of blues and whites with gold accents on the trim.

"Of course we are," Timi said, "you are meeting up with a suitor from our rival nation. May as well remind them of where you stand." I sighed as Timi walked for the door and gave me some privacy to change. I slipped out of my pyjamas and into the dress, trying my best to get on what I could before asking Timi for assistance. She walked back in to help me zip up the rest that I couldn't reach. She began to put on the final touches when she pulled out something from her uniform pocket. "Will told me to give this to you," Timi said as she handed me a simple golden necklace. I smiled, recognizing immediately that it was my mother's.
