(Luke walks into the school with big headphones and begins his day. VO plays.)

VO of Luke- I know your probably thinking, why this boy got on them big old headphones? I can’t help it; music has always been in my life. Whether its country or gospel, it all gets blasted in my headphones.
MUSIC GETS LOWER
(Luke walks to his locker but gets interrupted by Mrs. Black)
Mrs. Black
Um young man!!! You know the rules, take the head phones off and pull your pants up.
(Luke shakes his head and takes headphones off and goes back to his locker.)
MUSIC STOPS
VO- I don’t know why she is always telling me to take my headphones off when I’m sure she used to carry a radio on her shoulder and everything when she was my age. She can’t dictate what I put on my head.
Luke puts his headphones back on and continue to walk to class.

Mr. Davidson
Excuse me sir, I’m going to need you to take those headphones off.
(LUKE TAKES OFF HEADPHONES)
(VO- Dang man! A brother can’t catch a break in this place. It’s not like they can hear it or anything and I aint bothering nobody. Man whatever I aint stuntin them folks.)
Luke puts his headphones back on

MUSIC GETS LOWER AS HE GETS STOPPED BY PRINGLE
Dr. Pringle
Now young man, I heard Ms. Black and Mr. Davidson tell you to take those headphones off. Now I don’t want to have to take them but if I need to I will. Now please, take them off.
Luke
Dang man fine! (STOPS MUSIC AND takes off headphones) Ya’ll happy now?
(Luke storms off to class to his math class)
(Bell rings)
(BLACK OUT)
Luke enters math class with ear buds in. He sits down and stares at the board. Dr. Kirschner enters and begins talking.
Dr. Kirschner
Alright class, today we are going to be learning about solving for variables such as x and y. Now take out a piece of paper and start the warm-up.
Luke shakes his head and takes out and tries to begin his work. However, he needs the right song to get him started.
VO- Man I aint tryna be learning NO variables or whatever he said.
Luke pulls out his iPod and begins searching for a song to play.
A shuffle Of songs plays and finally he plays Wale’s “The Problem”.<----(THIS CAN BE CHANGED IF WANTED TO)
(He begins to start writing freestyle and catches a girl’s attention)
Girl in class
What are you writing?
Luke
Just some rhymes I got to get on paper.
Girl in class
Can I hear it?
Luke
Yeah sure. Let me just get my last few lines together.
(Luke begins to rap) LYRICS FOR FREESTYLE WILL BE WRITTEN BY MATT.
soon the whole class in tuning in (each extra turns around one at a time and soon crowd Luke’s Desk). (BLUE LIGHT)
(Dr. Kirschner walks back in and get mad at Luke) (EXTRAS DISPERSE BACK TO THEIR SEATS)
Dr. Kirschner
Young man you know better than that! Go to the principal’s office.
Luke
Seriously? I didn’t tell all of them to listen to me.
Dr. Kirschner
I don’t care! I will not tolerate this “gangster rap” (AIR QUOTES) in my classroom!
Luke
(mumbles) Are you mad that they would rather listen to me then you?
Dr. Kirschner
What did you say Mr.Staples? Oh now that is the last straw! To the principal’s office now!
(Luke gathers his stuff and storms out)
