Chloe:

A few weeks ago, I had received an invitation to an event I never wanted to attend. When I had opened the envelope, my heart stopped. The card inside read:

We're getting married!

Rebecca Mitchell & Jesse Swanson

We want to celebrate this day with you.

I hadn't heard from Beca in 4 months. We were best friends before she decided to shut me out. I wanted to burn this invitation right then and there, but I couldn't. I put it in a random drawer to rot and went on with my life. I was living with my boyfriend Chicago, who served in the army. I was a teacher and I had been happy with my job and my life until this damn wedding invitation had to ruin everything. I couldn't concentrate on anything anymore, except the fact that Beca was getting married to this... I didn't know what to call him exactly.

At some point, Chicago found the card and talked me into attending this gruesome event.

That's where I was currently at. Sitting on an uncomfortable chair, listening to the heart-warming story of how Beca and Jesse met and fell in love with each other. This wasn't exactly the place I wanted to be right now, and I was sure my face was giving that away.

Chicago sat next to me, holding my hand, gently stroking it. I removed my hand from his, when the official, who had been talking, stopped for a second and then continued to ask Jesse if he wanted to take Beca to be his lawfully wedded wife. He said yes. Of course. Just when Beca was asked if she wanted to take Jesse to be her lawfully wedded husband, the door flew open and a blonde woman came running in.

"Beca, don't! He's a cheater!"

Everyone turned around and looked at the blonde girl. She was panting, trying to catch her breath. Beca looked surprised. Jesse on the other hand, just looked shocked. Pure horror written on his face. I didn't know who this girl was, but I surely wanted to know what she had to say.

"What the hell?!" Jesse said angrily. "You can't just barge in here and interrupt our wedding! Sit down and be quiet!"

"Actually, I'm really interested in what she has to say." Beca said and continued. "Hailey, what's going on?"

I had never seen Hailey. Beca had mentioned her a few times. She was her cousin.

"He's a cheater. Jesse cheated on you!" Hailey yelled and looked at Jesse disgustedly.

"How dare you spreading false insinuations like that?! Baby," Jesse turned to Beca, who appeared to be overwhelmed by all of this. "she's lying. I would never do this to you."

He sounded a little too desperate in my opinion. I had the feeling that Hailey was telling the truth.

"I'm not lying! I saw him!" Hailey yelled and Beca was slowly tearing up.

"Beca, she's lying! She's doing this because she's jealous!" Jesse yelled and tears were now dripping from Beca's blue orbs. I felt bad for her. I had to do something.

"That's enough!" I screamed while getting up from my seat. Everyone was looking at me now. Including Jesse and Beca, who was still silently letting her tears fall.

"You don't get a say in any of this, Chloe! It's none of your business!" Jesse yelled at me. While we were arguing, Beca's mother led all the other guests outside. I was left alone with Hailey, Beca and Jesse.

"Don't talk to Chloe like that!" Beca sternly ordered.

"It's okay, Beca." I said walking over to her, putting an arm around her. She still had tears running down her cheeks. "Can we talk about this like adults for a second? Hailey, what exactly did you see?"
