Here we go again. Another short PP related story. Hope you enjoy.

"Hey, Chlo?" Beca asked while entering the living room of the Bellas house. "Do you have time to go over the new set tonight?"

Chloe and a few other Bellas were hanging out on and around the big sectional. When they heard Beca's question, they all looked at Chloe. Things between Beca and Chloe had been tense for a few weeks now. At first nobody noticed, but now it was affecting the whole group.

"I can't tonight." Chloe replied dryly.

Beca went to the kitchen to grab a can of soda without even questioning why Chloe didn't have time tonight. She heard the other Bellas whisper-shouting to Chloe. That wasn't fair.  Another voice said, It's about the set.  A third voice, You're being too harsh.

Beca sat at the kitchen island with the can of soda in front of her. She sighed heavily while she held up her head with her elbow on the counter.  While all the other Bellas were getting ready to leave for a party, Beca still sat at the island. She stared holes into the wall, overthinking everything that had happened in her life in the past few weeks.

Once Beca was sure everyone had left and she had the house to herself, she let herself fall onto the couch. It was the same spot Chloe had been sitting in an hour ago. A faint scent of pear, roses and jasmine- Chloe's favorite perfume- still lingered in the air. Beca opened her editing program on her laptop and started working. She went through the set for the upcoming performance again. If Chloe wasn't willing to help, she just had to work with what Beca had come up with. Beca was about halfway through the set, when she heard her name. "Beca?"

She looked up from her laptop to see Chloe approaching her. "Can we talk?"

"I thought you had plans for tonight." Beca's sarcasm sometimes got the best of her. She didn't even mean to be snarky, sometimes she just couldn't help herself. She focused on her laptop again.

"Beca, please. I'm sorry about earlier."

"Are you really though? Because you don't seem to be sorry for all the other times you left me hanging or straight up ignored me in the past few weeks." Beca was upset. Chloe and her had been best friends or so she thought and she didn't quite understand what had happened between them. The tiny brunette just knew that she hated the way they were behaving now.

"Well, you don't seem to be sorry either, Beca! So we're even." Chloe stated, her hands placed on her hips.

"Sorry about what? What did I do that makes you act like this around me?" Beca questioned, throwing her arms up in the air.

"I heard what you said about me."

"What do you mean? What did I say about you?" Beca closed her laptop and focused on her argument with Chloe fully. She genuinely had no idea what Chloe was referring to.

"Really? You're playing dumb right now?"

"I'm not playing dumb. I have no idea what you're talking about."

Chloe was too stubborn to just tell Beca what she had heard her say. Mainly she didn't want to make it too easy for Beca. "Then you better figure it out."

Beca got up from the sofa and picked up her laptop, "You're being ridiculous." She went to her room to continue her work on the set, but she couldn't forget what Chloe had said. Her thoughts drifted off and she tried to remember every single detail, every little thing she had said to Chloe, about her and in general. It took her a few minutes to figure it out, but when she did, she hit her forehead with her hand. Chloe must've overheard a conversation she had had with a friend at home over the phone. Beca had been in her room but her door was opened just a crack. Chloe must've walked by when they had talked about the other Bellas.

"You want to know about Chloe? She's going on my last nerve sometimes. Always so nauseatingly positive and energetic. And she is unfathomably clingy."

"Sounds pretty annoying if you ask me."  Of course Chloe hadn't heard what Beca had said next.

"It's not. I love it, but I swear, if you tell anyone, I'm gonna hunt you down and make it a slow death."  Beca laughed.

Beca had a plan and as long as she and Chloe were home alone it would work out perfectly. She texted her friend and went to the kitchen to grab something to drink. She wasn't really thirsty, but she needed an excuse to check if Chloe was still downstairs. Beca was happy when she found the ground floor empty. That meant Chloe was in her room upstairs. Beca went upstairs to her room again, but this time she left the door cracked on purpose. When her phone rang, she waited a few extra rings before she picked up. She wanted to make sure Chloe had heard it. Beca and her friend were talking and laughing loudly on purpose. The tiny brunette new that Chloe was naturally a very curious person, so this should work out for her.

"Why do you like her so much?" Beca heard from the other side of the phone. "Oh, Chloe?" Beca asked extra loud. She could hear the ginger's breaths behind the door. "She's my best friend, my family. She's always there to pick me up and somehow she always makes me feel better, no matter how bad my mood is. She will always be my person." Just when Beca had finished her explanation, Chloe pushed the door open.

"I'm gonna call you back. Thanks! Bye." Beca hung up.

"Be honest! You staged this call." Chloe wanted to know while she took a seat on the bed next to Beca.

"Maybe." Beca grinned, "Did it work?"

"What about being too positive?" Chloe wanted to know.

"Chloe, if you eavesdrop on my calls next time, you should listen a little longer." Beca joked. Chloe's cheeks changed color to a deep red.

"I'm sorry.", the ginger said meekly.

"No, Chlo. I'm sorry, but please can you be my nauseatingly positive and unfathomably clingy friend again? I really dislike cold-shoulder Chloe. She's no fun."

"I don't know. I liked her." Chloe teased. She started laughing and Beca immediately joined in. When their laughter had died down, Chloe pulled Beca into a tight hug.

"One more thing, Chlo." Beca said when they parted, "Can we please just talk to each other next time we have a problem with the other instead of dancing around each other for weeks?"

"Yes. This was torture." Chloe giggled. "I hate being mean to you."

"Love you, Chlo." Instead of answering, Chloe just placed a kiss on Beca's cheek.
