Y/n POV
====
I was setting up for a baking stream, usually I'd have Tubbo or Tommy over while doing IRL streams however they were busy. I understood, I mean, they both need to upload on their channels and Tommy needed to do a Tom Simons vlog.
Today I wanted to bake a cake, I had the supplies and I was bored. Currently, I was putting the supplies on my counter. I don't know how to bake, but hey! It's worth a shot. Last time I baked was when I was 13, making cookies with Tommy when he was over for a sleepover. The cookies burnt to charcoal and the house reeked of smoke.
Safe to say, my mom was not happy, and didn't allow Tommy over for another 2 weeks. But that doesn't matter, I'm 17 now and I definitely 100% know what I'm doing.. totally.
I clipped a small microphone to my shirt and opened Streamlabs on my laptop. I don't usually show my face on stream, but I couldn't find a mask or sunglasses anywhere. I hope my one thousand followers like seeing my face, because that's what they are getting.
I changed the title and category of the stream and tapped on "Go Live". It took a few seconds, but people started joining and chatting. Most of the chatters commented on how I have face cam on, while the others act like scared mothers who are scared of their child burning the house to ashes.
"Well hello chat, welcome to stream!" I exclaimed, happily. Boy, it has been about a week since I've streamed.
I watched the chatters discuss random topics, most asked where Tommy and Tubbo were. I sigh, of course. People join more when they are around. I'm glad that people like them, but I want them here for me.
"Hey, don't worry chat! Tommy and Tubbo are busy, that's all. I apologize for not inviting them but I don't want to bother them." I say.
I watch as my views go down, people wanted Tommy and Tubbo. Not a clueless teen who copied Dream SMP videos. I sigh silently. This isn't getting anywhere. How can I get popular without the dying pressure of having my friends being the reason for my fame. It simply isn't fair.
"I-.." I gulp. "Please stay, I'm trying my best here."
Chat keeps nagging, it's getting irritating. Why can't I get lucky like Ranboo, or anyone else! I am proud of them, but I'm jealous. I wonder how they did it.
"I understand that you want Tommy and Tubbo but I want people to watch me. I want to be famous without them being here." I sigh, "and if you don't respect that then you can just go, because I want to be known for myself, not just Tommy and Tubbos friend."
That makes chat settle down. I inhale and smile at my camera. Finally, I can actually start. God that was a handful.
"Thank you, May we proceed now?" I asked.
The viewers seem happy with that idea, and I listen. I preheat my oven and got out a cake pan. I put butter in the pan and set it on the stove top. I place a bowl in front of the camera. I look at my cookbook for the recipe.
"First I need to add batter mix and milk. Seems easy!" I exclaim, looking up from the book with a crooked smile.
I grab the batter and pour it into the bowl. Next was the milk. I walked to the fridge and looked around for milk. When I had found it, I brung it to my bowl and poured it in.
"Okay, so now I mix it."
I took the whisk and began to stir the mix. However when I looked up to chat, they had called out a mistake. Ah, right. I forgot the eggs. I facepalmed and giggled. Since the eggs were already next to me, I took one and tapped it against the counter-top. I poured the egg into the bowl and repeated that process about 2 more times.
"Alright, before I continue. Did I put everything I needed in it for the basic mix?" I ask.
Chat said that butter was a smart idea, so I did as chat requested. I started to mix again, and since the batter is very thick, it was difficult to do stir. I gaze up at my view count. Oh shit. 2 thousand people are watching me.
"I-.. uhm! Welcome new chatters! How are we on this fine evening?"
The chat flooded with positive messages that boosted my ego, to be honest. I am really grateful that people like me and my awful baking skills.
When I had finished mixing the batter, I poured it into the cake mold. Seemingly, at the most perfect timing, the oven beeped. I got an oven mitt and picked up the cake mold, gently setting it inside the oven.
---
It had been about an hour of me reading donos and telling stupid stories from school, but then the oven let out another beep.
When I had pulled out the cake from the oven, I smiled. It looked decent. I grabbed vanilla frosting and a rubber scraper that I found in the drawer. I opened the package of icing and let the sweet scent embrace me. Jesus christ, it has been so long since I had real cake.
I took the cake out of the pan and began spreading the icing, the beige cake now turning white with the colorless icing.
"Well chat, what should I put on the cake?" I question, looking at the chat.
Most people said that I should self promo myself, and others said stuff like "Among Us". I went with the self promo and used blue icing I found in the back of my cupboard. I carefully wrote my Twitch URL and giggled at the finished product.
I lifted up slightly to show chat. "Thoughts?"
Everyone loved it! They said that it looked really good, and others spammed "LMAO" over the shameless self promo. To be fair, it was funny. And it looked better than Ranboo's. No hate, but when I had watched his 1 million subscriber special, I actually let out a gag. Maybe I should give him baking advice next time I visit Tubbo.
Today was amazing. The only bad thing was streams start, but hey! Now I have more followers and chatters. Man I could get used to this.
