Chapter 3

Charlie's P.O.V

"Uhh..Damon, I thought you said it was a small RV?" Jace questioned as Damon and Sebastian got out of the RV.

"It was supposed to be" Damon replied "But the rental place asked how many of us there were and then they suggested this puppy" he added and smacked the side of the RV.

"Let's check it out!" I excitedly said. Damon opened the door and we entered the vehicle one by one. When we first walk in there is a refrigerator to the left and then a sofa to the right, a small kitchen area straight ahead and then a dinette table thing across from the sofa.

"Pretty roomy, even for eight of us" Tanner commented as he looked around. In front was the driver's and passenger seat, above that was an overhead bunk. Then we moved to the back and seen that there was a set of bunk beds next to the kitchen and a bathroom across from the bunk beds before it lead to a room with a queen bed in it.

"I figured it would suit our needs between hotel stays" Damon told us with a shrug.

"I like it" Jace said happily.

"Alright, so should we bring in our stuff and get going?" Sebastian asked and we all nodded. So, we grabbed our suitcases and duffel bags and loaded them into the RV.

"I'll lock up the house and grab the extra chargers" Dakota said as he ran back into the house.

"Alright, who is driving first?" Sebastian asked Damon. I gave them a curious look.

"Drivers have to be 21 years old" Sebastian answered my silent question making me frown.

"Oh, well that sucks. Will you guys be okay doing that?" I asked sincerely. I hate that we can't switch off to make it easier for travel.

"We'll be fine, thank you for your concern Charlie" Sebastian said with a smile. "Why don't you guys head in and get situated" he added, gesturing to Jace, Matt, Ryder and Tanner.

"Will do" Jace said before he skipped up into the vehicle. The rest of us followed in after him, Tanner sitting on the sofa while the rest sat in the dinette. I took my place next Tanner.

"Are you guys excited" Jace asked with a toothy grin.

"Yes and I can tell you are" I laughed.

"This is going to be so fun" he was practically bouncing in his seat. Dakota popped in the door and walked to the over head bunk, jumping and laying on it.

"Here's your charger, Jace" he said, throwing the cord to him.

"Thanks, Kota" he said and ventured to the back where his duffel bag was.

"Did you call your mom, Matthew?" Ryder asked looking across the table to Matt.

"Yeah, she told me to check in frequently" he shrugged.

"Do you prefer Matt or Matthew?" I questioned curiously.

"I like Matt" he said as he looked toward me.

"Oh, okay" I answered uncertain "Just cause he called you Matthew, I wanted to make sure which you preferred" I said, nodding my head toward Ryder. A faint blush appeared on Matt's face.

"Yeah.." he trailed off "Ryder and sometimes my mom when she's really mad at me, call me Matthew" he added, glancing toward Ryder, who was giving him a smirk. I heard Tanner snicker next to me causing Matt to blush more and I felt lost. I looked at Tanner and he just shook his head with a wave of his hand. I looked up at Dakota and he was busy playing on his phone. Jace re-entered the room but climbed up with Dakota.

"Are we ready?" Damon asked as he climbed into the driver's seat. A chorus of 'yeah's' rang throughout the vehicle. Sebastian hopped into the passenger seat and we were off.

We stopped at a grocery store so we had snacks and drinks to fill the fridge with before we actually started our journey.

"Where are we headed to first?" I questioned the group.

"Chicago" Damon and Sebastian answered.

"Nice, good place. We've been there, what twice?" I asked Tanner and he had a thoughtful look on his face before answering.

"Yeah, I think twice because the first was winter 3 years ago then that summer" He stated with a nod.

"There's a zoo where you can feed the penguins" I said excitedly and Jace looked at me with wide eyes.

"Really?!"

"Yeah at the Brookfield Zoo" I told him and he was slapping Dakota's arm.

"Ow" Dakota complained, restraining Jace's arms "Yes, we will make sure you feed your precious penguins" he told Jace and he squealed. I quirked an eyebrow with a chuckle.

"He loves penguins" Sebastian commented from up front.

"Ahh, I see where the excitement is coming from then" Tanner laughed.

"Yeah, he usually spends a good ten minutes observing the penguins at the zoo near us" Matt commented and Jace just beamed.

"Do you guys have a favorite animal?" Ryder asked, looking around at everyone.

"Red panda" Matt answered and Ryder gave him a small smile.

"Tiger" Sebastian piped up

"Lion" Damon said as he turned his head toward us, keeping his eyes on the road though.

"Wolf" Dakota gave his answer.

"Grizzly bear" Tanner answered and I had to think about mine. I don't really have a favorite but I think koala bears are adorable. So I said just that.

"Just like you" Tanner mumbled making me smile. Ugh, why does he do that. It's cute but it's also teasing.

"What about you Ryder?" I asked him since it didn't seem like anyone was going to ask him in return.

"I'd have to say Snow leopards"

"How long until we get there?" Jace asked, dropping his head over the bunk to look at Damon and Sebastian.

"About 6 more hours" he told him. Jace moved back up and cuddled into Dakota's side.

"Okay, I'm going to take a nap then" he said with a yawn, in turn making me yawn.

"Not such a bad idea" I chuckled. I got up and made my way to the back to rest on the bed. It didn't look like Ryder or Matt were straying from scrolling on their phones. I laid down and let out a big sigh, closing my eyes.

Mind if I lay in with you?" I heard Tanner's voice at the door. I just patted the spot next to me to answer. I heard his feet shuffle across the floor before the bed dipped. I opened my eyes and turned on my side.

"So, what was up with Matt earlier?" I asked him since we were alone. He chuckled before explaining to me what Jace had told him. I made an 'O' face.

"Well that would've been nice to know before I embarrassed the kid" I murmured.

"Nah, Jace said he's just super blushy when it comes to Ryder" Tanner easily said. I studied his face before getting to his eyes. His brown eyes flickered to meet mine.

"I heard what you said" I stated quietly.

"What do you mean?"

"You said I was adorable" I mumbled.

"Yeah" he replied like it was no big deal.

"You can't just say that" I told him, our eyes never breaking contact.

"Why not?"

"Because..."

"Because why?"

"Because it's bad enough you don't want to reciprocate my feelings, Tan" I exasperated. He closed his eyes and sighed.

"You know, I wish I could" he stated firmly after opening his eyes again.

"You could" I argued

"No, I already told you that it'd be selfish of me" he retorted.

"I don't care! Just be selfish with me Tanner!" I practically yelled at him, our faces were inches apart at this point. I licked my lips and his eyes flickered down at the movement. Kiss me, please. Just kiss me. I pleaded in my head.
He let out a huge breath before rolling over and getting up from the bed.

"I....can't" he quietly said before leaving the room. Tears pricked at my eyes as I was left in silence. I rolled over on to my back and squeezed my eyes shut, putting the palms of my hands over them.

"You okay?" a small voice asked, which I recognized as Jace.

"I thought you were napping" I stated, ignoring the question.

"Kind of hard when there's arguments happening in a confined vehicle" he replied. "Thin walls" he added and I felt movement on the bed. I sighed.

"Sorry" I mumbled before retracting my hands from my eyes and blinking them open. "I just get so annoyed with it" I replied sadly. Jace leaned on one arm, resting his head on his hand.

"I understand"

"I just thought of what you told me." I frowned "Obviously, it didn't work"

"You might just have to keep trying" he said with a half smile "I don't want to get your hopes-"

"I know" I cut him off "I just wish it was easier" I sighed for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"I can try talking to him?" he offered.

"I don't know if that'd make it worse or not" I muttered, staring at the ceiling. "But worth a shot....I just want to be with him" I admitted.

"I know Charlie" he rubbed my shoulder in a comforting manner "Just take a nap and rejuvenate yourself" he said before getting off the bed.

"Thanks Jace" I said to him and he gave me a smile.

"Anytime" then he was gone. I closed my eyes listening to the sound of the road before my mind drifted to sleep.

Tanner's P.O.V

I left the room and walked out to the main area to have all eyes on me, besides Damon's. I groaned.

"Sorry" I said sheepishly. I forgot we were in a secluded place with many ears and thin walls.

"All good. I'm just going to go talk to him" Jace said as he climbed over Dakota and off the bunk. He padded back to the room where I just came from and I plopped myself on the sofa.

"So..."Matt trailed off.

"You know you don't have to fight your feelings" Dakota mentioned. I glared at him but then sighed.

"I'm sure you already know the story" I said and all of them nodded, making me roll my eyes "It wouldn't be easy....We wouldn't be able to do anything couple like in public ever. He's always wanted to get married and again, we wouldn't be able to do that" I stated.

"You think we would be able to get married?" Dakota asked incredulously.

"Well no, and that's why I'd hope you'd understand when I say that it's not fair to him to take that dream away" I said defeatedly

"That would be his decision though" Dakota countered "We all knew what we were signing up for when we became part of our relationship" he added gesturing to Sebastian, Damon and where Jace was. "We could never be married, but we have our own way of showing our forever love to each other" he said and lifted his shirt sleeve to show a tattoo that wrapped around his bicep. Sebastian lifted Damon's sleeve as well and showed me his as well.

"But you guys don't look related, I mean you do in some features but only if you're looking closely for them. But, with that being said you can be affectionate in public" I tried to argue.

"True, but have you considered dying your hair? Maybe then at first glance no one would suspect you're twins, especially with different eye colors" Dakota shrugged.

"I don't know Dakota" Matt said as he scrutinized my face. "They are identical and it'd be hard not to see the immediate resemblance of jawlines, noses, lips, etc"

"Exactly" I agreed.

"There's always plastic surgery" Dakota offered.

"No" I deadpanned

"We trailed off topic...In the end, if he wants to pursue the relationship with you, knowing the risks...Then why fight so hard?" Dakota asked as Jace came back into view.

"Ah, perfect. Already on the topic of what I wanted to talk with you about" he commented as he sat next to me. Dakota looked at the back of Jace's head with a little pout.

"What if he regrets it later?" I countered, continuing the conversation.

"He won't" Jace and Dakota stated.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"Damn dude" Dakota chuckled "Why are you so uncertain?"

I frowned "Well, he means the world to me. I also never felt like this, especially for a man" I admitted. Jace subtly glanced over at Matt who was tapping away on his phone. Ryder was laid back against the wall of the vehicle with his legs extended on the seat, watching and listening to us.

"So you're scared of being with a man?" Ryder chimed in.

"I...I guess. Yeah" I scratched the back of my head. I know my feelings for him and I would never second guess that but the idea of getting intimate does scare me a little because it's foreign to me. I mean, I know my body but it's another guys penis and ass I'd be involved with.

"Which is normal for someone who has only been with women" Ryder said "But don't let that cloud over what you truly desire" he added and let his eyes land on Matt. Matt was oblivious to everything around him at this point, just continuing to do whatever it is on his phone.

"Mattsy" Jace called to him. Nothing. "Maaaaaatttttttttt"

"Huh? What?" he finally looked up at Jace.

"What's got you so intrigued?" he questioned.

"Oh just playing a game and texting Amber" he replied. Ryder's face twitched into a slight frown before he corrected himself back to a neutral expression.

"Come back and cuddle Jacey baby" Dakota whined and Jace giggled, getting up and climbing back on to the bunk. Man this RV is filled with lovey dovey and love sick people. I kicked my feet up and rested my head on the arm of the sofa.

"You could use one of the bunks" Ryder offered.

"Nah, if you and Matt want to nap, it's all yours" I said closing my eyes.

"We're here!" Damon announced as he pulled the vehicle into a parking lot for RV's. "We will walk or take the bus to get to our destinations while we stay here" he said as he parked.

"For now, we will grab our stuff and Uber to a hotel" Sebastian added as we got up and stretched. Damon parked the RV and we all got out when Dakota said the Uber was there to take us to the hotel. Damon had informed us that we were staying at the hotel on the Navy Pier. Which is nice because the Navy Pier has a lot of food options, great view, a lot to do and overall is great.

We checked into the hotel and settled in our rooms. Charlie, Matt, Ryder and I shared a room that joined the other fours room. Charlie had not really talked to me since our little dispute back in the RV. I looked out the window and just admired the beautiful sky of the sunset against the blue of the water. I always admired the blueness of the water here.

"Do you guys want to go get pizza at Giordano's?" Jace asked from the doorway between our rooms.

"Yes!" We all agreed. We walked down to the restaurant and got two different pizzas, The classic Chicago and the meat and more meat pizzas. They were absolutely delicious. The buttery deep dish crust with the cheese. Best pizza ever.

After we ate, we ventured outside walking along the pier before we decided to go in and sleep for tomorrow's awaiting adventures.

I woke up to the alarm we set for today. I lazily turned it off before turning to Charlie and shaking his shoulder.

"Char, wake up" I croaked out.

"I am" he mumbled. I laid there with my eyes closed, not really wanting to wake up. I heard chatter and a door closing shut from beyond the walls. Then silence.

I sighed before blinking my eyes rapidly. I got up and shook Matt and Ryder awake as well.

"They have breakfast right?" Matt asked and I chuckled

"Probably, let's go I think I heard the other four already leave" I told them and we filed out of the door. We got down to the breakfast being served but the four were not in sight.

"I thought you said you heard them leave already" Ryder asked with a yawn.

"Must've been different neighbors. I'll go get them, you guys start" I told them and rushed back up to the room. I opened our door and hurriedly opened the joining door before becoming frozen with my mouth hanging open. All four heads snapped over the door. Jace was straddling Dakota, Sebastian was behind Jace and Damon was in front of Jace with his cock just hanging there. Jace was blushing madly.

"Oh, shit" I said before quickly turning and shutting the door. And that's why you knock Tanner. I blushed as I realized I got excited from the view I just seen.

"I thought you locked it!" I heard one of them say from the other side.

"I thought I did" another voice said. The door opened and Sebastian appeared with a blanket wrapped around his waist.

"We'll be down for breakfast in a second" he assured me and I nodded before he shut the door again and I left the room. I made my way back down to the breakfast bar and got a plate of eggs, a toasted bagel and some juice.

"They said they'd be down in a minute" I told them as I sat down with my food. they all nodded and continued eating and chatting.

Interesting start to the morning I'd say.
