The day that went wrong || Quackbur

Introduction/Chapter 1

Hello! This is my first actual story I've written on here q-q, This is for a ELA project please keep in mind so it might not be the best of writing! If it gets popular I might do more but not sure, Anyways heres what I have so far :D 

Alex woke up in his dimmed room; it was around six-pm so the sun was slowly setting through his windows. He was shorter than average with short black hair and dark grey eyes. He stood up and went over to his closet, changing from his night clothes into his normal working clothes. He put his grey-Ish beanie on and walked out of his bedroom. He fed his cat and got everything ready for when he got home. He went into his car and drove to work. It was Halloween, so while he was waiting for the light to turn green, he observed all the different decorations, the crisp air refreshing him. He soon arrived at his work building. It was a well-known hotel, known for its casino, which he had the luck of working at as the barista. He parked his car and went in. Unluckily for him the door seemed to be locked, he was not a manager or anything, so he did not have keys to unlock it. He knocked on the door, no response. Soon he saw his coworker named Karl. He was an average height male with brown colored hair and green eyes. Alex knocked on the door again hoping Karl would hear him and open it. He sighed as it seemed like Karl did not hear him.

"Karl! Open the door please-" He called out, but the brunette didn't hear him again, was he invisible or something? He thought to himself sarcastically.

"Oh, Hello Nick" Karl said, Nick was their supervisor, he was the same height as Alex and had black hair with amber eyes.

"Hello Karl" Nick said back, all while Alex was standing at the door. He knocked again hoping they heard him. Soon enough Nick opened the door.

"Alex why were you standing outside for so long?" Nick asked.

"I was trying to get in, but it seemed like no one heard me-" Alex responded after he felt relieved, so he wasn't invisible.

"I didn't hear you. You could've just called out and I would've let you in." Karl said questioning why he hadn't heard anything.

"Oh, trust me I did. I called out for you, but you didn't even flinch. I was starting to think I was invisible!" He spoke in a joking tone, Nick laughed quietly while Karls cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"How about you three get to work?" The trio heard from behind them, they turned to see a tall blonde-haired man with green eyes. It was Clay, he was the head of customer service. Also happened to be best friends with Nick.

"Alright, no need to be so harsh Clay." Nick said before he turned back to Alex and Karl, signaling them to start getting ready for work. Alex looked over to Clay, their eyes met; Clay smirked menacingly before he turned around and walked back to work. Alex questioned why the blonde smiled like that but decided to shrug it off and continue.

The day seemed to be going well for Alex, that was until the regular who he was not-to-fond of came in. His name was Jake Schlett. Tall brown hair man with dull red eyes, the employees were used to him but not in a good way. The only reason he did not get kicked out was because he was good friends with the owner of the building; Charlie, Alex sighed.

"Hello Jake!" He said with fake enthusiasm. "What will it be today?"

"Hello Alex, unfortunately I'm not here to get a drink." He said with a mischievous tone, Alex's forced smile fell slightly.

"What else will it be then?" he asked, hoping it wasn't anything too bad and he could deal with it.

"Oh, nothing much, just that Charlie wants to see you." Jake said, in such a casual tone too. Alex felt furious with this man. But he kept his forced smile and continued.

"Oh? Is after my shift, okay?" He asked politely, trying his best to keep his temper concealed.

"No, he wishes to see you now." Alex felt himself sigh. He walked by Jake on his way out, who patted him on the back and his lips now read 'good luck.'
