ALYANA'S POV
The rest of the trip was surprisingly relaxing. Going to Kansas was the best part, Colby's parents were so sweet and his mother cooked every meal for us. It was like being a kid again for three days. Of course I was super nervous to meet them at first, but once we got the awkward greetings out of the way, everything felt so natural.
Currently, Colby and I are on our flight back to LA. The week away from everything was amazing, but it will be nice to be back home.
"Did you have a good time?" Colby asks putting his arm around me.
"Yes, I had a great time," I smiled up to him, "thank you so much."
"How many times do I have to tell you," He raises his eyebrows at me, "don't thank me."
He's always told me not to thank him. Since we met at The Queen Mary, after he took care of my cuts. I think he says it just to keep his mysterious facade up, but parts of me also think that he doesn't like to be praised for things he does out of the kindness of his heart. Either way, I still thank him. Sometimes it's because I really appreciate what he has done for me, other times, I just want to hear him remind me in his cocky tone.
"Do you think your parents liked me?" I asked looking out the window to see us ascending thousands of feet in the air.
"Are you kidding me," Colbys laughs, "They practically treated you like the daughter they never had. They loved you babe."
After about 4 hours in the air, we were landing and getting picked up by Sam and Katrina. We give them quick hugs before jumping in the car.
"So how was it?" Sam asks before Colby went on to tell them about our week.
Before I knew it, I was zoned out. Staring out the window watching the landmarks pass by as we drove. Listening to what everyone was saying, but paying no attention to the words flowing through the conversation. I'm relaxed, stress free, all the tension and pent up anxiety was gone. I was finally fully comfortable with everyone, especially Colby. When we first met, I never saw myself being so vulnerable around him. I never saw myself letting my guard down, but now my guard is officially down. As cheesy as it sounds, he makes me feel safe. Being with him is like dancing through clouds. You know at any moment you could fall through the dainty material, but it's always there to catch you again.
"Hey Lane, are you okay?" Colby snaps me out of my daydream.
"Oh yeah, sorry I'm just tired from the long flight," I quickly make up an excuse for my thoughts.
"Well good thing we're home."
Everyone helps us unload our luggage from the car and me and Colby wheel it to his room.
"Do you wanna take a nap?" He asks propping up his suitcase, "We can unpack later."
"Yes please," I say crawling on top of the bed with him.
I wasn't actually tired, but I did want to lay in Colby's arms with no other care in the world. As my head rises and falls on his chest with every breath he takes, I can feel him slowly fall asleep underneath me.
Sometimes I wonder if I should just move in with him, he has offered it on many occasions. I don't see any problem with it, I am so close with everyone in the house and I'm practically here all the time anyways. However, living separately is like having an extra cloud incase the first one isn't there. Not that I wouldn't expect the first cloud to be there, but just incase. Before I knew it, the sun was setting and I was drifting to sleep myself.
"Good morning sweetie," I hear Colby's raspy morning voice whisper to me.
"Morning?" I question rubbing my eyes to see the sun starting to rise.
"Yeah," he giggles, "our nap lasted longer than expected, so I got you in some pjs and under the covers while you were sleeping."
"You're so sweet," I blush placing a small kiss on the top of his head.
"I hate to break up the time we have together, but Sam wants to leave sometime this after noon."
While we were in Michigan, Sam told Colby that he found a new place to go for a video. They haven't filmed for their duo channel in almost a month, so I'm glad that they are finally back to doing what they love.
"Don't worry about it silly, we just spent all week together."
I quickly grab a shower before I load my luggage back into Colby's car. On the way back to my place, we stop at a small diner for some breakfast. It was so casual, but meant so much to me.
"You promise you'll be fine without me?" Colby asks walking me into my apartment.
"I promise, you go and have fun with the boys. Don't worry about me."
"Well, I'm definitely going to be thinking about you," He places his forehead against mine, lining our lips up to meet each other.
"I'll definitely be thinking about you too," I whisper before closing the gap.
"I'm gonna miss that," He smirks after pulling away.
"You'll be gone for three days," I laugh.
"I know, but I can never get enough of you."
"Please be careful okay? I don't need any phone calls from a hospital, or spirits following you home," I tease him.
"I'll try my best," He smiles walking to the door.
"I'll see ya later, Lane."
"See ya later, Brock."
