Chapter 16: New Possibilities?

P's POV:

We finally made it backstage and changed to our outfit of the night. Stef, Kee Kee and I were asked to Escort some of the Chosen Basketball Players on stage for the All Star Fashion Show. This is the first year we do it. Kee Kee is partnered with Klay Thompson, Stefanie with J.R. Smith and I am with Chandler Parson who I must admit is very cute!

Karina, who is the Coordinator for the show introduced us to the Players prior to the show so we can get comfortable with them. I do have to say I was starting to get a little nervous and I guess Chandler noticed...

"How is a Beautiful girl like you Nervous?" he asked... "Wow, he has a sexy voice!" I said to myself.

"Umm, Beautiful? Don't know about all that, but I have to say I AM NERVOUS! I can go on stage and perform in front of thousands of people when I'm on Tour but when I'm shooting a music video or do events like this..." I said shaking my head, "...I Don't know WHY I get this nervous!" I said truthfully putting my hand on my stomach to calm my butterflies. "Or maybe it's because you are two feet taller than me and it INTIMIDATES me a bit?!" I said as I looked him up and down...Damn he's Tall!

He laughed and shook his head while taking my hand and pulling me towards him. He sat down on a stool that was nearby and positioned me in front of him.

"There, is that much better?" he asked with a very cute smirk on his face.

I stood there looking at him NOT knowing what he meant. "What are we doing right NOW?! I asked cause I was confused at the gesture.

"Well, I figured that if I sat down instead of me standing next to you, you wouldn't be too Intimidated by my height and I get to be face to face with, In my Opinion the Sexiest girl I've met since I got here to NYC!" he said as he looked at me up and down with a huge grin on his face.

Staring at him with one eyebrow raised I responded, "Flirt Much? ...and Nice Pick Up line by the way!" I said as I went to turn and walk away from him. But before I could, he grabbed my hand again and turned me around slowly so I can face him.

Shaking his head and chuckling a little he sighed and looked at me with a serious face.

"I'm SORRY if what I said made you Uncomfortable and that YOU thought it was JUST A PICK UP LINE! But I need you to know that I'm serious, YOU are NOT just Sexy in my eyes, but Damn Beautiful and I would Love to take you out on a date and spend time with you! I REALLY want to get to know you better and I'm hoping you'll want too also!" he said taking my hand in his and staring into my eyes! Those eyes...

"Are you asking or Suggesting?!" I asked curiously.

"Oh Darling, I'm ASKING! Ms. P Rodriguez, would you do me the Honor in going on a date with me tomorrow?" he asked confidently.

I looked down cause I was a Little more Nervous than before then looked back into those beautiful eyes of his...

"I like a 'Proper Man'!" I said to him.

Pulling me closer to him he asked, "So is that a yes?!"

Biting my lower lip I hesitated...Should I say YES to him? I mean he is a Basketball Player, what if he's EXPECTING more from me than I am willing to give him? Then I thought about what Nicky had said to me earlier, "...open your mind to New Possibilities!" Come on P! Stop overthinking things and just say yes, it's only one DATE!

Right when I was going to answer him, Karina came in announcing that it was Showtime! We pulled away because she was making sure our outfits were on point and lead us towards the stage. Taking a deep breathe in and exhailing out, I attempted to calm my nerves! Kee Kee and Klay are in front of us and she turned around to make sure I was okay.

"Mami, I know you're nervous, just breath! We've been on stage hundreds of times, you can do it!" she encouraged me and pulled me into a hug!

"I know Keeks! I was doing fine until Chandler asked me out on a date tomorrow!!" I whispered in her ear still hugging her...

"What did you say to him?" she asked and I didn't respond. She broke the hug so she can look at me in the face. "Let me guess! You hesitated and haven't given him an answer yet?!" I swear she knows me too well!

I looked down... "AY MAMITA, que voy a hacer contigo?!" (what am I going to do with you?) she asked shaking her head. I just sighed. She looked over my shoulder at Chandler who was talking to Klay behind us. He must of felt us looking at him cause he looked up and smiled back nervously. I'm pretty sure he knew we were talking about him.

Kee Kee looked at me again, "He's really cute P and if you hesitated to give him an answer then I know you were thinking about saying YES to him! You ONLY hesitate when you're interested!" she said and she is so right!

Turning around to look at him, I smiled..."He is Cute!"

"Haha, YES HE IS!" she exclaimed and hugged me again. "He is FREAKISHLY TALL THOUGH!"

"That he is! But he seems very nice and sweet...and that smile and eyes..." I trailed off as I pictured him smiling at me earlier.

"So I take it you are going to agree to the Date?!" she asked smirking.

"Well, if you know me SO WELL, then you already know the answer!" I said to her.

Tapping me on my shoulder she responded, "Yeah I do!" then laughed.

"Places, Places EVERYONE!" Karina yelled so we can get in position to walk out on stage couple by couple.

Klay walked up to Kee Kee in front of me as Chandler stood next to me. I looked up at him and smiled as he looked down smiling back. He grabbed my hand gently and kissed it.

"Are you okay Sweetheart? he asked worriedly... He really is Sweet. How can I NOT give him a chance?

Taking a deep breathe in and out I squeezed his hand still looking up at him, and right when we were going to walk on the stage I said "YES...!"
