"hey," you mouthed as soon as you saw him sitting out the balcony.
"are you busy?" you asked as you sat beside him.
"you're not usually awake to chatter with me," the demon welcomed you.
"feel free to call me circe, (first name)." he followed as you nodded.
"so what pleasure do i owe you for this conversation?" he asked you as he extended his hand infront of you.
"don't be shy, take it." he said with a smile.
you took his hand and mumbled, "your hands are cold.."
"the wind within my palms are unfortunately just cold. i can't warm you up." circe said as he was about to let go of your hand
"i just wanted to know.." you said as you quickly tugged his hand back.
"how much time do i have left?"
"my, my." circe said with a smile.
"you have a long life to live." circe said as he gave you a wide smile as he tucked back the hair strands that were flowing from your face
"that was before.. right?"
"you took half of it.. and didn't i exchange my fate with yue?" you questioned him.
his eyes met with yours and there was quite a silence that came after.
"do you regret it?" he asked you as he looked far within the horizon of qingyun peak.
"no." you quickly answered.
"to know my only family will live well.. is enough for me." you explained to him as you held his hands tightly.
"you're quite selfless." he said as he stared at how you were holding his hand.
"your brother is dying, and you gave half your life to me."
"now you're dying and yet you don't seem like you regret any of your decision."
"you're weird."
"humans aren't supposed to be like you.." circe said as he looked you in the eye.
"you're supposed to ask for money.. fame.. and wonders of this world."
circe just went on and on, "and yet you're just here."
"accepting death as it is."
"you didn't answer my question yet, circe." you said as you tightened your grasp within the palm of his hand.
despite feeling the cold that he radiates, it somehow felt comforting to know that you were able to share your sentiments.
it surprised him to see how much you wanted to hold onto him, but rather gave you a simple answer. "you have 4 months to live."
"4 months.." you mumbled as you stared at the moon
"..more than enough i guess." you said as you gently rested your head against his shoulders.
"it seems like you trust me." he said out loud as your eyes were shut.
"at this point, you're the only one i could depend on." you said as circe relaxed his shoulders so you could feel a bit more comfortable.
"it is my honor to receive such answers." he said once more.
the night was silent, surprisingly the wind wasn't as loud as it always was.

"you really have the audacity to fall asleep on my shoulder." i said to myself while trying hard to control the wind in qingyun peak.
it has been a week since we signed our contract, and who would've thought a little human would be able to free me from a horrible spellbound.
"..your desperation.. is commendable." i whispered as i moved her head away from my shoulder, as i gently placed her frame on my lap.
"this is much more comfortable, huh?" i said out loud as she arched her body closer to mine. i snickered but obviously she wouldn't hear me.
i took a glance at her one more time as i look back to the moon.
my fingers quietly snapping to ensure no loud gush of air disrupts her sleep.
"..you should've asked for a lighter contract." i suddenly mumbled to which i myself was surprised i said.
"haaa. all this time i wanted to escape that prison i was trapped in.."
"and i subconsciously promised to serve whoever gets me out.."
i kept mumbling out words i kept thinking about from way back. i couldn't help but sigh.
"but you're not going to be here for a long time,"
"so let me make your stay worthwhile." i said as i played with pieces of her hair.
"si vis amari, ama.. (first name).."
