Lying awake in bed on Saturday morning, y/n stared at her phone screen, anticipating a reply. It was the weekend again and she had asked Hueningkai and Beomgyu to go with her to the bookstore. It had barely been a week since her last visit there but she had already finished reading all the books that she had bought and although she knew that libraries existed, she had a thing about wanting to keep books she finished reading.

The "ping" from her phone alerted her. She read the reply from her best friend. "I hate reading but Lea forced me out of the house and gave me money for at least 3 books. She said I need to read more and I can't come back home unless she sees three books in my hands and a receipt. Can you come pick me up?" Y/n rolled her eyes at her best friend's reply. She replied that she would be over to pick him up.

Grabbing a bag for books, her wallet and her phone, y/n left the house to pick Hueningkai up. As soon as she got to his house, she saw him standing at the doorway of his apartment complex. "What about Beomgyu hyung?" Hueningkai asked y/n. Just then, y/n received a notification. "Beomgyu says that he's going for an audition and he can't make it."

"We'll go with him some other time then. Tell him I wish him good luck." Hueningkai said. Y/n nodded and did as he asked her to.

The pair left the apartment complex and took a bus to Gangnam-gu. They got bored during the journey and decided to play a game of "369". They each took turns to count, trying their best to avoid saying any numbers with 3, 6 or 9 in them, for by doing so, they would have lost and would get a penalty of a slap on the face. Unfortunately for y/n, Hueningkai was better than she thought and by the time the bus stopped at Gangnam-gu, the girl's cheek was cherry red and sore from all the slapping. Hueningkai felt a sense of satisfaction but also felt bad that he had slapped y/n too hard and too many times. "Sorry, I didn't know my own strength. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better?" He asked guiltily. "You could buy me 3 more books?" Y/n cheekily replied. "Okay okay fine. Make me broke."

They walked to the bookstore. "You've been obsessed with this one store and now you're dragging me into it. I can't believe you've done this to me," Hueningkai rolled his eyes. "Aish you penguin, reading won't kill anybody. It won't hurt for you to read something other than a Webtoon."

She pushed open the door. "Ah, young lady, you're back! I see you've brought a friend?" The owner of the store greeted the girl with a bright smile on her face. "Of course I'm back, I promise to be back every week. This is my best friend, Hueningkai. He usually dislikes reading so I thought bringing him here would be good for him," y/n replied. The store owner then told y/n that there was a new shipment of books and she was free to pick out any she wanted. Y/n thanked the store owner and said that she would pick out a book from there if she found anything she liked.

"Okay, do you have anything you want to read- Actually never mind, you haven't touched a books since our literature module last year. You seem like a person who liked reading fantasy... hmmm... How about this one?" Y/n said, holding up a book for Hueningkai. He briefly read the description at the back and agreed to get it. "I should go get my own books, you should be fine on your own right?" Y/n said. Hueningkai nodded and they went their separate ways searching for their own books.

About half an hour later, y/n held five books in her arms. She had enough money to buy one more. She had been meaning to start reading books by the author Ha Tae Wan. One of her friends had recommended her his book titled "모든순간이너였다(Every Moment Was You)". Her fingers ran across the shelves as she read the numerous names of authors engraved on the spines of the books, searching for the title. Her fingers stopped on the spine of one book "I Met Her In Spring, She Left Me In Winter". Y/n had heard of this book before, it was a bestseller from years ago. It was sold out everywhere and she had tried her best to get her hands on a copy but to no avail. She had finally found it and she wanted to read it. As her hands reached out to grab the book, another hand snatched the book before she could.
