It had been a day since the funeral and Marinette was still upset but Barry kept making her smile or at least for a little bit. Today they were going to be packing some of her most important things to take to Central City. They decided Gina and Roland would look after the house and bakery so Marinette could leave her things here.
"So what do you want to pack first?" Barry asked his daughter and she looked around her room and grabbed her back pack and put in her a couple sketch books and her pencil case along with the necklace her mother gave her.
Then she looked around confused about what to take and what not to take. "ummmm" she said clearly not sure and Barry chuckled and grabbed a suitcase and opened it "how about some clothes?" he asked and she nodded.
Marientte ran up to her closet and opened the door and Barry was clearly surprised at what he saw and said "that is a lot of pink" it was the main colour he could see there was hot pink, light pink, a pastel pink any type of pink you could think of.

"Well it is my favourite colour" Mari said before tossing a bunk of pink dress and sweaters and all sorts of skirts and stockings his way before turning back to look at her father who was almost buried by the amount of clothes she threw at him.
"Is it cold or hot there?" she asked after Barry pulled himself out of the pile of clothes. "It's both a winter where it snows and a summer, it can be really sunny and hot." he told her and watched her pull out a bunch of clothes that weren't pink.
"So it's similar to the weather in Paris, thanks dad" she said, lining up outfits for her to wear. Barry felt his heart melt when she called him dad and she wasn't half asleep this time. "You know if you don't have something you need we can always go shopping and buy what you need. Plus my best friend Iris loves shopping. She's really excited to meet you" he said.
"When can I meet your best friend?'' she asked. He smiled "she's picking us up from the airport with her dad he's a cop" he said and her face lit up. "Are we taking Tikki with us? I don't want to leave her behind" she said and it made his heart melt. Barry had always wanted to have a pet as a child but could never have one as his mom was allergic to fur.
"Of course we can." he said and she smiled and at that moment Tikki walked into the room and sat on Barry's lap and snuggled up taking a cat nap, to which he laughed.
"I think she's going to take a cat nap on your lap dad" she said "well I guess she's going to help us with packing we have to pack for the two you after all" and she smiled with in half an hour they had made a pile of all the things they had to take and what they were going to leave behind.
"Hey, how are you two going with the packing? Oh and lunch is ready" Gina said going back down the hatch, the father and daughter followed and soon took a seat at the counter and had looked at what she made and it looked good.

Gina had made sesame soy chicken with rice and vegetables. The dish looked very really good and they all enjoyed the meal. After lunch Marinette spent some time watching a cartoon in which she fell asleep halfway through, all the packing must have really tired her out, Barry thought.
Barry and Gina continued to pack most of her things but in the end they had a duffel bag for Barry, a pet carrier for Tikki and two suitcases and a backpack for Marinette with a coat and a drink bottle of water and some things she would need while they were at the airport.
