Your room was silent except for your occasional snoring,the rain outside slowly pattering against the windows as a soft crack of thunder lit up the sky. Your peaceful sleep was interrupted by 5 loud rapid knocks on your door,getting up with a groan you shuffled out of bed before making your way to the door.

Your mind still in sleep mode as you unlocked the locks and opened the door,coming face to face with a man with bright red hair like those popular kpop singers. The man gave you a wide smile before closing his umbrella,your eyebrows raise in confusion while rubbing the sleep from your eyes.

The man stared at you as if he was waiting for something. That's when you realized who it was,your jaw dropping before pulling him in the house and hugging him tightly

He let a laugh leave his lips,you started clapping in excitement,"Gi-hun! You're back! I waited so long!" Your cheers made his cheeks warm,holding your shoulders as you rambled on.

Gi hun nodded as he sat on the couch with you,your hands held his arms like he would disappear into thin air if you weren't holding him,"Where did you go? you've been gone for a year..I thought something happened to you,jerk!" Your happiness quickly turned to slight anger as you realized he left you for a year,and in your mind you believed it was for no reason.

His smile dropped from his face as he realized your fingers had tightened around his wrists but you didn't seem to notice,"you left me for a year! How could you?! Oh im-" Gi hun panicked as he tried to say something,finally getting the words out midway through your sentence,"It's a very long story and i can tell you right now,just calm down first! I understand how you must feel.."his soft gaze went to your hands around his wrists as they loosened up.

You crossed your arms against your chest, anger fading away while Gi hun explained everything from start to finish. After he had finished his story,you sat in shock at first before your mouth opened and shut. You were utterly astonished and it was visible in your face.

You finally managed to speak,"That's..wow. I'm so sorry Gi hun that must've been so tough. I feel like crap for yelling at you now" your fingers intertwined with his as his face dropped in confusion. Shaking his head,he grabbed your shoulder,"you didn't know where i was,i would react the same way."

He stood up and made his way to the bag he brought in,one you didn't notice at first,"hey Gi hun since you're home we should see Ga yeong! I bet she misses you as much as i did!" Your tone was now cheery,Gi hun nodded as he pulled something out of the bag and gave it to you.

You looked up at him in surprise before opening the gift and seeing a necklace in the small black box decorated with red ribbon,letting out a gasp at the shiny silver item with a small picture of you and Gi hun on your first date. In the picture Gi hun had his food halfway to his mouth,your face was in the corner looking at him with such giddiness. That was when he still had a gambling addiction and was in debt,but you didn't seem to care,you were just happy you were with him.

"I have a matching one! It's been so long,I feel like you deserved something for staying by me." His smile made you look at him in awe,your voice cracked as you thanked him,planting a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth.

After that the two of you decided to visit Ga yeong,but you made a stop by the orphanage first and carried through with Gi hun's plan to give Cheol to Sangwoo's mom with the money they needed. The game was out of his mind and he could go back to living a normal life with you and his daughter.
