As I crouched next to Manaka, I watched as she poked at a upside down green-bellied sea slug while giggling at it. "Look at how it jiggles when you poke it" I snickered under my breath, slowly raising my finger to poke its belly too. "Hey! What's up" waving as he walked over, Kaname had called out to us with Chisaki trialing just behind him.
"You're late!" Grumbling, Hikari slouched with his hands stuffed into his pockets. Pulling my hand away from the sea slug, I stood myself up as did Manaka. "Morning" she smiled at them, closing her eyes as she did so. "Look who finally showed" slightly smiling too, I waved over to them as they made their way over. Now that we were all here, we could set off to go to school.

As day by day went past, everything had already started to change so much in little time. It snowed more and more, the village was not completely covered in a thick white layer before any of us could have even noticed it. People had started to pack up their stormed, getting themselves prepared for the upcoming hibernation.
As they did that, us kids had continued to work on the Ofuenehiki, it was our last hope to save the surface after all. I hadn't wanted to go to sleep just to wake up to find out that the surface had suffered so much and gone extinct while we had survived without any bother. It's not fair. So, I was now working as hard as I could without break, we needed to save them.
However...
"Lord Uroko said, with how our Ena's coming along, our village will probably do a deep sleep on the twenty-first" as I walking past, I had heard a conversation that I wish I hadn't. The twenty-first..? That was the day that the Ofunehiki fell on. Now knowing this information, I bit down onto my bottom lip and kicked off the sea floor so that I could start swimming up to the surface.
I had only stayed a little later then usual because my sister was already starting to feel sleepy, she hadn't done much anymore but just lay in bed. The thought of her falling asleep was scary itself, it's one of the only thing I could think about all day long. As my head popped up and out of the water, I was instantly met with the cool breezes kisses against my skin, causing a shiver to go down my spine.

"Originally, our country was commonly referred to as the templet humid climate, the biggest characteristic of such atmosphere conditions is changes in the seasons" my eyes gazed over my book as our teacher went on about his lesson. I was feeling quite sleepy, this lesson was getting boring if I had said so myself but the teacher would say otherwise.
"They are affected by pressurised currents of air known as the season winds" as he continued on with the lesson, I rubbed my eyes in a tired manner and yawned, how much longer was this going to last? Waking me up all together, a loud alarm sounded which had caused us all to look up from our books before our teacher shut it off. "And.. apparently it's time, so go on ahead now" he looked at us sea kids and smiled.
"But it isn't even twelve o'clock yet sir, our Ena should be just fine, there's no reason for us to leave the class" calmness in his tone, Hikari was quick to protest against leaving class so early. "Well these are the instructions given to us from Shioshishio, so it may be in your best interest to follow them" with a small saddened smile, he explained the situation.
"Based on the information that I've gathered, your hibernation is thought to be a biochemical reaction to special environmental factors all adding up at once. This hasn't happened for the past few centuries however, so no one really knows for sure" muttering out loud, his eyes then gazed over the five of us with a fixated expression. Thought he couldn't go against the instructions, it was stupid how we were being treated like this.
