Part 3 - Date Plan

Leading up to the presentation day, I get a notification on my phone with some date ideas to get to know Samuel better.

Date options:

1.    Movies

2.    Dinner and bowling

3.    Scenic drive

Looking at the options given, I was most comfortable with the movie option. Option 2 will force me to interact with them, but bowling looked fun, the scenic drive seemed too intimate and risky. I suggested we set a time to hang out after our presentation, possibly watch a movie.

We had agreed to watch 'The Quiet Place II' together as it was the only horror movie that was out in the cinema that we both haven't seen yet. Samuel was nice enough to book it ahead of time so we could find the seats that we wanted to sit in before it was all taken.

The more we talked, the more I found out about him that was also written in the Love App. His older sisters were 25 and 27 years of age, although Samuel had a significant age gap with his oldest sister, they were relatively close and had many similarities with each other than with his middle sister.

During our marketing class, we had a short conversation about our date, talking about the first sequel to the Quiet Place movie, Samuel said,

"I know there aren't many horror movies or thrillers out there that are good, but I would say I am looking forward to the movie we're watching tonight. I saw the trailer and it looks good."

"I agree, the first movie was really good, I heard you get to see the alien creature's face up close in the second movie, I'm eager to see that. I also want a good ending too though."

"Yeah, the dad dying in the last few minutes of the movie broke me." He pouted, and we went back to the group work.

Samuel and I met up later that day at the cinema after we had presented our group work to the class. His sense of style was questionable to say the least, it wasn't particularly a warm night, it had a cold breeze.

He wore a skin coloured mesh turtleneck tucked in his ripped jeans. I wore an orange knit top, a skirt and a jacket. It was clear who was dressed warmer for the occasion.

Maybe he wanted to show off his new top, but it was uncomfortable to look at, I could see full bare chest.

He bought us popcorn and drinks, and sat in our booked seats. The movie was said to be an hour and a half long. While we were waiting for the commercials to play across the screen, I noticed Melody walking up the cinema stairs, and sat next to me along with her boyfriend as well.

I guess she was worried about my first date with a guy alone in a dark room. Technically, it wasn't just us, there were many other people who sat around us.

I was definitely nervous since it was the first time, I had made plans with a guy, I was awkward and so was he.
