Chapter 8

Ricky pov:

I was shocked to say the least. There she was, my little Moon, laying in the middle of the room with a piece of glass in her hand.

That was not the parted that shocked me though, no, it was the part that she looked almost broken. None of this made sense.

All of the sudden all three pairs of eyes were on me and my sister looked almost relived. "What is going on here?" I asked, while the guy tended to her wounds. Hannah nodded her head at her, and she sighed. "Can you leave?" she asked, and I thought she meant me, but instead Hannah grabbed the guy's arm and pulled him out of the room.

As the door closed a tera rolled down her cheek. "What's wrong little Moon?" I questioned her while slowly walking towards her. "The guy was Hannah's Brother. Her parents are divorced. He's, my doctor."

I frowned at her words but said nothing. Instead, I sat down on the ground next to her. I took her not injured hand and caressed her knuckles. "He-e came to talk to me." "I won't force you to tell me" I said when I noticed her teras. That only caused her to shock her head though.

"I am Sick Ricky" she said, and those words made my heart fall.

"What do you mean? Do you have the cold?" "I have cancer Ricky" Luna said before breaking down.

I had no words. My little Moon, my little sister has Cancer. Then it hit me, she might die.

No, she cannot die. "How bad is it?" I asked being afraid of the answer. The look in her eyes and her silence said it all. "Is there a chance you'll get better?" She nodded her head, which caused me to feel a bit better. "It's not high, but yeah I could get better."

I pulled her into a hug and that is how we stayed for I do not know how long. I decided to break the silence. "Luna I'm so sorry for not believing you. I know I messed up and that every apology is to late. I get that you probably hate me, but I just wanted you to know that if you need anything and I mean anything you can come to me."

I took her silence as a sign that I should leave, so I did just that. I pushed myself off of the floor and started to make my way towards the door when I heard a sob. I abruptly turned around to face my little sister. Our eyes met and I saw a small smile on her lips when she saw that I had stopped. "Do you want me to stay?" I carefully asked her, to which she immediately nodded her head. "I forgive you" Luna quietly mumbled while I saw sitting back down next to her.

I must have looked like someone just told me the best news of my life, because that is exactly what has just happened, but also because my sister was giggling like a crazy person. "You honestly forgive me after everything I did?" I questioned her completely shocked and surprised.

She nodded her head "Yeah, but it'll take some time for me to fully trust you again."

I pulled her into a bone crushing hug. "That is ok, That's more than ok. Thank you so much for giving me another chance. I promise I won't fuck this one up."

Then I realized that she was wearing the necklace I gave her when she was younger. I smiled at that, that meant she always had a part of me with her. "You'll get to be your nieces or nephews favourite aunt." She just smiled sadly at my words as if she knew something that I did not, but I did not press on it.

Luna will tell me eventually, like I said she needed time to trust me again and I will give her as much time as she needs. All of the sudden the door was ripped open, and dad walked into the room with tears in his eyes. I could only guess that Hannah had told him because he pulled Luna out of my arms and hugged her tightly. "You'll be ok Luna. We won't let you die" he kept mumbling over and over again.

After a few minutes I stood up and pulled them apart. "Dad is right little Moon. You'll be ok, we won't let anything happen to you. You're our strong little Moon."

The next day

I woke up the next day to the heavenly smell of pancakes. I quickly threw on some sweats and a shirt before running down the stairs. I knew Luna was cooking because dad cannot cook to save his life.

My eyes widened in shock when I walked into the kitchen though. Not only was Nini there cooking with my little Sister, but Luna, how do you say this without sounding weird, she was hairless, bold. "I- Hello" I suddenly spoke up causing both of the girls to scream.

"God Ricky, you scared me" Nini mumbled before walking over to me and kissing me.

Before I could ask what had happened this morning they started explaining. "I came to welcome Luna back home and she asked me to shave her head. Then we were hungry, so you want pancakes?" I chuckled while shaking my head.

These two have always been a little crazy together. I knew my sister would have eventually lost her hair, but I never expected her to shave it of before she had to. "So how are our cooking skills?" they both asked me at the same time. "Fantastic, I missed having edible breakfast."

"Hey, I heard that" a voice, that belonged to my dad, all of the sudden yelled form the living room. We all broke out into laughter.

This is what I missed the most while Luna was gone, and while she was mad at me. Laughing with her and Nini about the most stupid things. Some people do not get along with their siblings, but when your best friend loves your sister as much as she loves you it is hard to not spend a lot of time together. Nini always saw Luna as her sister, since she was an only child.

"Ricky, can you come to the hospital with me later on? I need to talk to my doctor about some things and I don't want to go alone in case he has bad news."

At first, I was shocked that she talked so openly about it in front of my girlfriend until I remembered that Nini probably already knew everything. It is no wonder Nini broke up with me, I deserved it, but that is beside the point. "Sure, little Moon, when is your appointment?" "At 1 pm" she said before sitting down opposite of me.

"You want me to come too?" Nini asked before sitting down next to me. "Yeah, I'd like that" Luna said with a smile on her lips before shoving a pancake down her throat.

I wanted to say this once. The topic of cancer is something that hits close to home and I fought long with myself about whether I should write this or not. In the end I did it, so please excuse it if anything seems different in the last few chapters. I was very emotional while writing
