He's not sure what he's doing, standing in the large kitchen at 10 at night, the ingredients sat nicely on the kitchen counter as his sharp eyes scanning through it thoroughly.

He was spaced out awhile ago, while sitting on his small office in his bedroom, the fingers that grips the pen remains unmoved as he sneak a glance at the clock, something clicked inside his mind and next thing he knew he already stood in kitchen.

But he wasn't dumb, he exactly knew where his foolish being bought him here all of sudden, it's only a few hours before midnight hits and he's drowning himself in sorrow as his hands unconsciously reached out for the flour.

An old habits die hard.

Mom look! " Taekook excitedly dropped his bag as he running towards the woman who sat on sofa, a fluffy blanket still wrapped around her, she still hasn't healed properly yet but managed to move herself around the house if she needed something.

She turn her heads towards them, immediately recognized the sounds of keys jiggling, the two pair of small feets patters against the ground, running hastily towards her, a small pack of candies hung on taekook's small hand.

Areum held a big cup of iced mocha thats double size of her own hands, she softly cooed, upon the cuteness opening her arms to hug her kids.

"What did you got for me? " She chuckled, seeing areum hurriedly shoved the big cup in front of her, she was so excited to let her mom have a sip and y/n did, she hummed in content, feeling her favourite drink swimming down throat.

"Eomma ! Look at this, I got candies and uncle Jack got you a big cake! " She gasped, looking up to see jack wore a wide smile on his face and big box of cake hidden inside, she smiled,forgetting about her birthday in about one hour and left.

"Oh really? Thank you! " She replied her son, he looks just as equally excited with his twin. Not forgetting to place a kiss on suho's forehead too.

The timeline with her home town and here was a big difference, it was later than there but she figured it was fine to wait for midnight, she laughed, seeing Jack swinging the cake playfully.

She kissed their forhead, mumbling thank you's and hugged Jack, it was a warm hug that you don't usually get everyday but it was enough to make that person's whole day. She felt her sore limbs lessen.

"You don't have to do it Jack, I'm, fine with just a wish." She shooked her head,he hushed her,putting the cake on the coffee table.

"Stop, I've been waiting for this so long, you know how much I love celebrating your birthday." He chuckled,opening the box, revealing a chocolate cake, being friends with her for over almost 4 years made he gained that she loves chocolate cake.

She would be spaced out once she see one but she would downed it all at once if she could. She was happy with this and it's all that matters.

"Oh it's a chocolate cake!" She giggled, ignoring the sting in her heart string, she should be better than remeniesce that every single goddamn time, she felt her eyes watered.
