A week has passed since the detention center accident. Nobara, Megumi and Sanemi have been training with second years every day. Yet Sanemi couldn't get Sukunas words out of his head- 'He was disappointed that we ran and also mentioned how I misused my technique, that I used it too simply'
Sanemi always knew these words were true, his technique was awfully destructive even at a basic level, and Sanemi was the type that would never do more than was needed. Yet now he felt dissatisfied with himself, maybe it was his fault that Itadori died, he never thought about the long-term effects of his behavior. Now he just felt like scolding himself for being Lazy. He was sitting on the stairs next to Inumaki watching as panda trained Nobara. Maki was standing in front of them. Megumi was late on training so the moment he joined them Maki scolded
"You're late, Megumi."
"Kelp"
"What were you doing?" Sanemi asked.
"What does it matter?" he stopped next to Maki and after a short pause continued "Zenin-senpai, what kind of people do you want to save as a jujutsu sorcerer?"
"It's not like I care if my actions save anyone" Megumi you really asked the wrong person there.
"FUSHIGURO!" Nobara was screaming while being swung around by Panda "quit asking interview prep questions! Switch with me! I'm sick of these school uniforms! Let me go buy some cute tracksuits!" Nobara was the only one to wear school uniform now.
"Here we go!" Panda let go of Nobaras legs sending her flying a few meters.
"What are those two doing?" Megumi asked
"Falling practice, you would have known have you not been late to the training." Panda explained "ok Sanemi you're next."
"You're all weak in close quarters, after all." Maki took a fighting stance in front of Megumi "so land a blow on us first."
Sanemi got to experience the same excruciating training as Nobara, and being spun by Panda wasn't helping with his dizziness: "Here we go!" he felt as pandas grip around his legs loosened and was sent into air. He launched flames from his hands and feet so he could ease his landing and redecorate the lawn around him.
"You have to be more careful with that."
"I know Panda-senpai."
The painful exercises continued for hours, with the three of them occasionally switching partners, Panda would usually throw them around. Maki only let them rest when they were beaten and, on the ground, and Inumaki ...
well he forced them to sprint around the race track, at least 15 laps full speed.
"Okay everyone, you get a fifteen-minute break, but one of you has to go on errands." Maki announced
"Why?" first years asked, all equally confused.
"That's part of your training." Both Megumi and Nobara were more worn out, because Panda chose to train Sanemi the most.Looking at his classmates, he sighed "Fine, I'll go. Any special requests?"
--TIME SKIP--
While walking back to the training grounds and carrying a bag full of different drinks, he noticed Gojo leaving the principal's office. Immediately he started running toward him: "Gojo-Sensei!" he called. Gojo turned around and waved his hand at him
"Hey, Sanemi, how are you doing" he took a good look "Nice scars by the way"
"Those are from Sukuna." He somewhat helped escalate the dialog in the right direction "Gojo-sensei, while fighting Sukuna he called my technique Inferno, and the reason why he gave me these scars was because in his opinion, I was devaluating the technique."
