Karla's grip on her phone tightened immensely. "That's..." Not good. Awful, really. "Great sweetie. Tell Hanako I'm proud of her for getting in."

"I will! She's already left to see Mitsue-san, so you'll probably be able to tell her yourself by the time she gets back."

"Ok Ben. I'll see you when I get home. Bye." Without waiting for an answer, Karla Machi hung up and released a drawn-out breath. She pinched the bridge of her nose before stepping out of the bathroom. "Sorry about the wait sir, I just got the news of my daughter getting into UA."

In front of her, a figure was sat in an office chair facing away from her. His face was covered in a black mask and most of his figure hidden beneath a large coat. "Your daughter..." Karla held back a wince at the sound of his voice. It was deep and grating. The way he spoke reminded her of fingernails racing down a chalkboard. "She wants to be a hero, yes?"

"Yes, sir." Pulling her shoulders down in a forceful release of tension, Karla narrowed her gaze towards the figure. "I see... UA high school, the school for aspiring heroes. Watch her carefully Hideout. Wouldn't want to see her life wiped out because of the pursuit of heroism."

     "Yes... Sir..."

"Good. Don't worry about work today, you have a celebration to get to, do you not?" The question wasn't meant to be answered. A chill flashed down Karla's spine as the figure turned just enough to see his eyes through the mask. "Dismissed."

Hanako was fiddling with the locket. It physically didn't weigh that much, but when she held it, it made her muscles ache. "Ah, Machi!" Hanako looked up to see an old woman wheeling her chair towards her. "Oh, hey Hirai-san. How are you today?"

"Good as I can be. You're here to see Mitsue-kun again?" Hanako nodded, smiling as she smelled something sweetly familiar. "So Hirai-san..." Hanako stepped towards Hirai. "When did you start making the muffins for the cafeteria?" The woman hatched a smirk and gave a light chuckle. "Guess I can't keep much from you, can I? After Mitsue chased my granddaughter, I realized what she was doing. As an apology for everyone who didn't get a muffin on account of my granddaughter, I started making the muffins."

Hanako had a smile beaming on her face as she knelt down. "You really are the sweetest person here, aren't you. I guess you could say..."

"Machi, I know where this is going. Don't do it."

"There's muffin sweeter than you." Hirai chuckled and placed a hand atop of Hanako's. "Why thank you, Machi. I appreciate it. I guess it's a good thing you tell the jokes to me instead of getting your head bit off by Mitsue."
