((A/N: If you haven't noticed already, Hanako is replacing M*neta in this story))
Hanako, was, in fact, yelled at. "Hanako, that's a bird!"
"Yes, it is. A very hurt, very scared bird." Hanako had placed the bird on the desk as she grabbed a towel. Hanako's eyes were still a shimmering yellow, but they were strained and focused directly on the bird--who had yet to start screaming again.
"That's-" Benjiro dragged a hand over his face. "Hana... It needs a professional's help. And a home. Or- the wild or something!"
"I would have gotten a professional, but all the vets nearby were closed when I found him." Hanako stood up again, this time with the bird wrapped in a clean towel, before setting the bird in a box that previously held a package for her mom. "I'm going to head out early, I have some time before school starts. See ya!" Before Benjiro could stop her, Hanako was gone.

She rounded the corner, making sure to keep the box steady. Hanako had released her quirk for a bit when the bird naturally calmed down, but it was starting to freak out again as construction, traffic, and other loud sounds invaded its ears. As the bird started to breathe heavily again, Hanako groaned and fired up her quirk again. This time around, she tasted cinnamon as she cut off the audible stimuli from the bird.
The vets' office was quiet and decorated simply. It took a little over five minutes for a technician to see them. "Hello there! I'm Dr. Jensen, I can take you back. Who's this fellow?"
"Well..." Hanako rubbed the back of her neck, golden gaze still locked onto the bird. "I found this little guy stuck in a soda package and... tied... in a plastic bag. I was lucky that I heard him shrieking when I did." The doctor's face fell as he brought them into a back room. He gestured for Hanako to set the bird on the table. "It's always upsetting when things like that happen. He definitely looks calm, how long has he been with you?"
"Oh, uh... I'm actually using my quirk on him." The doctor looked up at her with a confused stare. "Uh- Sorry. That sounds wrong out of context. I have a sensory quirk, I'm blocking out any auditory stimuli. The rest of his senses are fine. I just noticed how scared of loud noises he was."
"I see... You did a good job with him. He does look fine, considering all he's been through. I'll go ahead and take some bloodwork and make sure his wings are ok. This might take a while depending on how he turns out." Hanako nodded and looked at her watch. "Ok... Thank you Dr. Jensen. Could I come see him when I get back from school? Or is that too long?"
"No, that sounds great actually." Jensen looks through his files and looks back to Hanako. "Hanako Machi, correct?" She nods. "Ok, Machi-san. I'll take good care of him. Does he have a name?"
Hanako thinks for a moment before smirking. "Jeffrey. His name's Jeffrey."
