Jay was down with fever the next few days after his last dream. His temperature was so high that he was given a few days off, along with the team for precautionary purposes. And during those few days, he was nursed back to health by an overly worried mother chicken, Sunghoon.
Sunghoon had been waiting by Jay's side since their private doctor left the house, confirming that Jay has caught a cold but his condition isn't worrying so he's advised to take a few days off. Sunghoon isn't sure why he's behaving in such ways but he just felt obligated to take care of the latter. Be it a sense of empathy as a friend or as an act of responsibility of a group member.
He had made sure to take Jay's temperature and feed him his medicine every few hours, he had brought the latter his meals, made sure he stayed hydrated and tended to Jay's every needs. He had even postponed his planned training session for a few moves that he'd like to perfect, just to focus on his poor friend.
Thankfully, after a few days and attentive care from Sunghoon, Jay's recovered. Just before their scheduled trip to Jeju for their album jacket filming. "Are you sure you're okay to work again?" Sunghoon asks Jay who's diligently folding his clothes for the trip. He's currently sitting on his bed on the top bunk, with his long delicate legs dangling a few inches from Jay's own head.
"Yes, Hoon-ah. How many times you'd ask me that? Worry much about me?" Jay asks with a little smirk.
Sunghoon huffs, annoyed. "Huh, you wish. I'm just making sure that I won't have to take care of your annoying ass again." He reasons, "Oh yeah? No one told you to do so though." Jay declares teasingly while glancing at a red faced Sunghoon.
Sunghoon grunts before quickly making his way down, "Yah, you should be grateful for having me as your friend. Bet no one would do that to you aside from me." He mutters while climbing down the stairs from the top bunk, looking to leave the room.
But before he can make his way past Jay, his pretty hand was caught by the latter, before he encloses it in a careful grasp, "Yeah, I know. Thank you, Sunghoon-ah. I really appreciate it," caressing it softly, "I appreciate you." he confesses, eyes dripping with appreciation, lips curving in the softest smile Sunghoon had ever seen.
Sunghoon, unknowingly, crimsons at that.
Sunghoon quickly tugs his hand from Jay's grasp, "Yah, don't ever do things like that again." before making his exit from the awkward situation, with Jay's barking laugh in the background.
They made their way to Jeju at 1:45pm in the afternoon. They had rode in the bus assigned by the company. As the destination takes around 3 hours to be reached, most of them decided to use the time to rest, before a busy day waiting ahead of them. Jay, currently having Jungwon as his seatmate, lends his shoulder for the younger to take a nap. As he glances to the back, he can see Sunghoon and Jake, both sleeping serenely while sharing earphones.
There's something tugging at his heart, something he can't put a name to when he sees Sunghoon with someone else, someone that's not him. And he can't believe himself for having such feelings. They're friends, they are all friends, his members, bandmates for life, this sense of possessiveness towards a member shouldn't exist. Yes, he had known Sunghoon far longer than others, aside from Heeseung, but he had never felt like this with Heeseung. It's only Sunghoon. Well, whatever. He had blamed it on the fact that Sunghoon is his one and only unit, thus the feeling of possessiveness peaked when the latter is close to others.
Finally deciding to not tire his genius brain on that petty matter, Jay decides to drift to dreamland too.
Jay woke up with a sigh. When he sees what greets him is a wooden-like ceiling, he knows that he's there again. What makes it different now, he's laying on a mattress now, not standing out of nowhere like in his previous dreams.
