Chapter 2
The Pack
"So which school have you come from?" asked a boy with frizzy brown hair, Raph blinked "Its in England, Castle Gates Comp. I think we played a football match against you once."
"I remember, the one where your team won by goal scored in the last 3 seconds of the game."
"Anyway." said the boy who Raph recognised as Rhys "I think..." there was another knock at the door, a teacher came in, he had a clip board with him "Anyone who wants to sign up to the school rugby team please come with me so i can count how many we've got."
"See you later" said Rhys as he and practically all the other boys in the class except about 5, which included, Mark, and four boys sitting at the back of class, who were talking with some of the girls; "Who are they?" Raph asked gesturing towards the boys, Mark looked up from his phone, which gave an annoying jingle as a text arrived. "Them? Oh that's the Pack." He continued with his texting, "The Pack? What the hell, why d'you call them that."
"Well, they're a group who always hang around together"
"Not that odd, but why the name."
"Why are you so interested?" Raph shrugged "I don't know, its a wierd name."
"Well, if one of them is in, you know, trouble; lost something, being picked on, upset etc. They're always there fast, and i mean like, in a split second fast. Also, they stick close, if one of them goes, then they all go."
"Okay... That's not odd. So who the pack leader then?" Raph was just joking now, trying hard to hide a smile; partly because Mark looked so deadly serious. "Well, there's Autumn, they do tend to go on her word rather than anyone else's. Which is strange, 'cause you would have thought that Abby would be in control, but..." Raph once again spied the pretty, curly haired girl; she was laughing at something, a high sort of laugh, the sort that girls often seemed to adopt. "So who is every one then? I know Abby, isn't she the one with curly hair?"
"What? Oh, yes, that's Abby, the rest of the pack are Leo,James,Tom and Max. But the girls names are Eve and Catherine, then there's Abby and... Oh, Autumn isn't here yet."
"Autumn?" queried Raph, "Did she paint the picture on the wall downstairs? Its amazing!"
"Yeah, she has a talent for it, though that painting scares me a bit, it seems to follow you around the room."
The door swung open, a tallish girl with gold blond hair that was immaculate in senses of the word entered, her hair curved in at just above her shoulders and was perfectly curved on both sides. She had more grey than blue eyes; eyes that could tell you more about the person inside, than ever her voice could. She was slim, and pretty, but not in the conventional sense. Her eyelashes curved outward and lay flat at the outer edge of her eyes, giving her the look of wearing eye-liner. While they curved upwards in the middle and on the inner edge. Long, strong looking legs suggested she did some sort of sport, probably horse riding or running. She seemed to blink a lot, conscious of everything around her.
"Is that Autumn?"
"Yep "replied Mark popping the last P. Autumn looked around then claimed a seat next to Abby, who immedietaley started chattering away 19 to the dozen. The girl was obviousley far from relaxed around Abby, the blinking increased until Eve (He knew her because of Abby forever repeating, "Didn't I Eve." and giving a little flick of her head towards a very tall girl with hazel eyes, who was looking thourghly bored with life.) broke into the one-person conversation by saying "I saw the new painting you put up on Facebook Aut', It was amazing." Autumn raised her head, she flashed a smile, showing teeth which obviousley had no fillings in them, "Thanks Eve, it took me ages to finish, what with..." Then she stopped her voice lowered so that only those closest to her could hear a word she said.
