When Naruto awoke, she was blinded by the lights of Konoha's hospital. She shuddered, recalling her trip to this timeline. No she didn't belong here, but she had to save them, she had to save the future. She had to save him, Obito.
"Who are you?" Naruto was startled. She turned her head slowly and saw a boy with short, black hair and orange and blue goggles.
"I'm... I'm Naruto Uzumaki, who are you?"
The boy looked at her, seemingly skeptical, before his gaze softened and he smiled widely, his smile resembling her own. "Are you okay? I found you on the ground so I took you here.. I've never seen you before, that's why I asked sorry." Naruto held her breath, no way it actually worked. She'd figured she had just gone fucking crazy- that tended to happen to war veterans. Kurama needed to hurry back.
"Yes that's fine but.. who are you? You never answered my ques-" Before she could finish, the door opened and the Sandaime came in. Naruto gasped, and pointed to the old man before she could help herself. "H-How..Who?!" Naruto scolded herself in her head for sounding so pathetic. But honestly, this was crazy! She was back in time!
"Well young girl, I am Hiruzen Sarutobi. I am the third hokage. Do you know what a hokage is?" Hiruzen gazed at her gently, and Naruto felt her eyes well up with tears. She'd missed the man so much.
"Y-yes the hokage is the leader of the village! I want to be the hokage too, believe it!"
The boy broke his silence, looking scandalized. "You won't be the hokage before me, I don't believe it!" Naruto glared at him, but on the inside she was glad. It had been a while since she could freely interact with people without having to worry about when her next battle was. For now, she'd take it slow.

Naruto had been sitting in the hospital for a while now waiting to be discharged. Her mind wandered back to the young boy she'd saw in the room earlier. He saved her from laying on the ground in the harsh heat. She owed him as much as lunch, right?
The door opened again, for the third time today and Naruto held her breath. She couldn't wait to leave, the hospital filled her with bad memories. "Shinobi-san, you can leave now we just need you to sign a few slips. Would you like to do that now or later when you are rested up?" Naruto cringed, her hand writing was terrible, and almost incoherent to read. "Yes I'll.. I'll do it now please."
Naruto held her breath and signed the papers the best that she could. She just knew that they were going to laugh at her when they read these slips. She pondered on where she was going to go first now that she could leave
————————
Naruto found herself meditating in the middle of the clearing that her team once trained on daily. Ever since the war, none of the training grounds were identifiable. None of the village was.
She cleared her mind, there was no point in dwelling in the past. Well technically there was, because she was in the past. Naruto snickered at her own corny joke, and opened her eyes to the same boy from the hospital standing in-front of her. She punched him in the nose off instinct. "W-what the hell!" the boy sputtered, and Naruto had the decency to look surprised too. "What the hell is right! You scared me!"
The boy from earlier held his nose, furrowing his eyebrows. "You're the one meddling on OUR," he motioned towards the people behind him, that she hadn't even noticed earlier, "Training ground!" Naruto looked extremely shocked now. "It's not-" she stopped herself. It probably really was their training ground, it didn't belong to her.. yet. "Nevermind, sorry I'll get going." She got up to move but the boy grabbed her arm. He was cheeks were slightly dusted with red, and Naruto wondered if he had gotten himself sick. She found herself feeling bad at the thought.
"You can train with us!" The boy stammered out. Naruto smiled coyly, "Train with you? I don't even know your name."
"My name is Obito Uchiha. Can you train with us please?" Naruto sat there, dumbfounded. No way this was Obito. This was the boy she was sent here to protect. Where were his scars? No way.
Naruto looked back towards his team who seemed to be standing there awkwardly awaiting her response. "Yeah, sure. I'll train with you Obi-baka." Obito looked taken aback, and released her sharply. His blond sensei clapped his hands together and did an eye smile. "Alright! Let's start off with some friendly sparring!
Naruto nodded, but secretly she was dreading her turn. She didn't know the limits to her powers here, if there wasn't any she'd surely hurt them. But if there was then she'd be embarrassed greatly. She bit her cheek and looked over at the boy she needed to save. He was fighting her young sensei, Kakashi, and he was losing terribly. The man who started the Fourth Great Shinobi War seemed so dopey and innocent here, not yet affected by the loss of war. It made her smile a bit, and he looked back at her catching her staring. Naruto looked away quickly blushing.
————————
Obito on the other hand, still looking at her lost his footing and found hisself with a kunai to his neck. Kakashi had won, and it had been that damn girl's fault. It was really starting to affect him, the way she was looking at him. Like she was longing something, or that she knew him intimately. It didn't really creep him out like it should have, but it was still kind of weird. Sure she was cute but, Rin.. he loved Rin, right?
Obito looked back up at Kakashi and scowled. The score was 78-23, and it was really embarrassing. It seemed as if Kakashi never stopped getting better. It made him envious, the boy had everything but wanted nothing. He had the love of all the senseis at the academy, even the ninja in the village. He had the skill, and enough people who adored him to have lots of friendships. He had the love of all the kunoichi and damn it he had the love of Rin. Obito thought back to Naruto and made a silent promise to himself that she wouldn't fall for Kakashi too. Even if Obito had to make her fall for himself.
It was selfish yes, but Naruto was cute and she had a strong aura. She would definitely catch Kaka-Baka's attention, and Obito wouldn't allow it. He found himself blushing at the thought of Naruto and him together. Shit, he was becoming a pervert! He was so lost in thought he didn't notice the girl he was thinking about dating standing in-front of him.
She was a little shorter than him, he noticed. He found his mood lightened at that. Not many people were shorter than him. Atleast not anybody he'd met, he was finally taller than someone. His thoughts were cut short as the blond girl spoke. "Hey, Obi let's go get some ramen. As a thanks for you saving me, what do you think?" He found himself blushing at the nickname. Nobody had ever given him a nickname besides his grandma.
Naruto looked at him again like he was stupid and poked his chest. "Hey idiot, are you even listening to me?" Obito snapped out of the trance he was in and answered to her.
"Yes, I'll go out with you!"
