i hummed the tune of the music that was playing silently through the speakers mixed with the sounds of the night outside my open windows. my room was slightly cooler and the summer night breeze ever so often brushed over my warm skin in a comforting way. i grabbed the different pieces of clothing shattered over my big bed and folded them neatly, and placed them inside the suitcase.
perhaps many would disagree on packing your luggage the night before the flight but it's something very therapeutic about it, to think of the nights and days in the distant place or the evenings your going to spend. i love to look through my wardrobe and listen to music while i lay the outfits on my bed and go over the list in my head to not forget the important stuff.
as i reached over to grab the many pieces of bikinis the notification on my phone caught my attention. without my knowledge a smile had creeped onto my face as i quickly grabbed the phone and sat down on my bed.
my fingers wander over the keyboard in a fast movement before my right thumb pressed send, the text bubble to tell me that he was responding made my heart beat faster and my smile got wider.
how can you be so in love that you smile at their texts messages or the thought of their name. his warm hands wrapped around mine or his laugh just made my stomach flutter with butterflies.
the vibration from the phone in my hand made my eyes immediately wander over the screen. just as i had read it i shot up from my bed and ran silently out of my room and down the stairs, being careful to not go on the areas that i knew creaked. as i stood by the door i listened carefully to be sure nobody had woken up from my socks that had skimmed over the wooden floors.
the silence that remained answered my question. i twisted the cold lock before i gently pressed the handle down and found myself outside in the summer night, leaving the silence from inside and entering another. my feet guided me over the stone stairs down to the driveway as i got view of the so familiar black mercedes on the street below. once i caught sight of him his focus was on the distance in front of the car, his face slightly painted with the light from the car inside.
that stupid smile from earlier seemed to never have left and had only gotten more noticeable now. his head turned to look in my direction and once our eyes locked, that smile i loved to much was plastered over his lips.
my hand pulled the door handle and the muffled music only got more quiet as i got in as i saw him turning it down.
"hey beautiful" he mumbled, i could tell that he seemed tired, i know that he had training early this morning and he probably needed to be asleep by now.
"hello handsome, why did you come by it's 2am?" i asked, a chuckle escaping from his lips.
"i wanted to see you before you're going away for 2 weeks." his big hand grabbed mine, it was like it was sculpted just for me. i smiled lovingly at him as my thumb traced over his soft skin on his face before i caressed his cheek.
i leaned my body over the console connecting our lips as i left a couple of pecks on his.
"your so sweet Jude, so considerate; thank you" i almost whispered and i leaned my body against the seat, still facing him.
his free hand traveled to my hand that caressed his face and grabbed it in his, his soft plump lips kissing it making me laugh.
"i'm sorry we couldn't spend more time now before your leaving tomorrow it's just been so much going on with everything." he uttered, a frown fell onto his face.
i gave him a reassuring smile,
"it's okay, we can make up for that time when i come back, but you do know that knowing you're following your dreams makes me happy right." i squeezed his hands with mine and he beamed affectionately at me, nodding.
his fingers gasped around my chin before his face inched closer too mine. our lips danced slowly in sync while his other hand drew circles on my waist. my hands were now resting on his neck caressing his warm soft skin. i just wanted this moment to last for eternity.
you could now hear the low music that was playing much clearer but at the same time the only thing on my mind was him.
his lips meet mine and they traveled down my jaw to my neck before he stopped and his arms wrapped around my waist pulling me as close as possible.
his warm body left mine making me a little sad as it reminded me that i wouldn't see him for a long time, i wouldn't feel his lips or his soft skin, those kind brown eyes or his strong comforting cologne.
just as we both sat back. letting our emotions dance in the silence i traced my nailed over his hand in hope on that time could stop and i could stay in this moment forever.
"shouldn't you be home and sleeping now, i thought you had training tomorrow as well, it's important to rest and sleep you know." i questioned. looking at the time, 02:16
"it's fine, i'm going to sleep when i get home but now all i needed was to see you." he insisted, his voice low and tired.
"i don't know what i'm going to do while you're away, i'm going to miss you so much" he muttered.
"probably go crazy" i beamed making him chuckle shaking his head as he looked ahead at the street.
"probably" he mumbled making us both laugh.
his brown eyes met mine once again before he kissed the back of my hand like he had done previously.
"have fun gorgeous" he mumbled leaning towards me waiting for me to give him a kiss.
"i will" i smiled as i pressed my lips against his, oh i am so going to miss this over the upcoming 2 weeks.
once the air separated our lips i opened the car door behind me.
"wait-" he said catching my attention, he leaned back and grabbed something from the back seats.
in his hand was a fabric folded making it even harder to identify in the dark setting of the nightlight. he handed it over to me as i gave him a questioning look.
"it's the dress i know you like to wear over you bikinis to the beach, you left it at mine a while ago but you look so gorgeous in it so i thought you might want to take it with you." he explained making my heart flutter.
"thank you love that's to sweet of you, you're going to make me cry" i leaned over leaving a kiss on his lips and then cheek.
he chuckled giving me a genuine smile as i got out of the car, he reached over the passenger seat and i grabbed his warm hand once i stood outside the mercedes.
"drive safe home now i'll miss you but i'll call you and text as much as possible." i proclaimed giving his hand a squeeze.
"i will, sleep tight and have as much fun as possible now and make some good memories"
Jude said, his voice low but genuine.
"i love you" i emphasised making a waving motion with my free hand giving his a light squeeze with my other, the dress resting underneath my arm.
" I love you too y/n" he said his hand now left mine and i gave him a last smile before i closed the car door and backed away towards the house i left earlier. throwing air kisses and waving as he did the same.
my feet once again danced over the cold ground before i reached the door and i turned around to get a last look on Jude. his eye where already on me and he gave me a last wave which i returned before his car drove down the street under the night sky that was littered with stars.
