I ran off to the abandoned house. By the time I got there, it was already dark. I walked up the few steps to the door and was about to knock on the door when it slowly creaked open. I went inside a few inches, and heard the door slam shut behind me. I quickly turned around and tried to open the door back up, but it would not budge. “Weird… I just walked in and this place is already giving me the creeps.” I thought. Suddenly I heard the crash of two china dishes falling onto the ground, and a loud, high-pitched shriek. I walked over to where the sound seemed to come from, but when I walked into the room, there was nothing. I heard the door shut behind me once again, and noticed I was in a long, dark hallway. Then, I heard footsteps. They were heavy, and creaked loudly against the old, wooden floor. I felt myself start to shake in fear. I saw a door at the end of the long hallway and began to run toward it. As I ran, the door seemed to be getting farther instead of coming closer. I stopped and looked behind me. I realized that I could no longer hear the footsteps. I turned back around and saw that the door that was once in front of me disappeared. Instead of the door at the end of the long hallway, I saw a shadow running towards my direction. As it ran toward me, I could feel its cold presence come as well. The shadow was only a few feet away from me when I closed my eyes and screamed. Then I heard nothing but silence.
