"MIIIINNAAAA!!!!" I jump as I hear my mothers extremely loud voice from downstairs. I yawn and rub my eyes. That was my first night in my new room. I'm surprised I slept so well. I reach over to my bedside table and grab my phone. Turns out my alarm went off so much it ended up turning itself off. "Oh shoot!" I throw off my covers, roll over and fall on to the floor. I lay there on my face for a second before scrambling up, rubbing my now sore nose. I'm about to run out my door when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror in only my night shirt and panties. Oops! Don't wanna show that to my brothers! I live in a home of boys. My mom and I are the only girls. My four brothers are all older than me, two of them are twins and the other two are only a year apart from each other. My mom wanted to have a girl so badly after having them. She said she wouldn't stop until she got a girl. So naturally I'm her favourite. All my brothers are 18 and older and all in college while I'm 16 and a second year in high school. Speaking of high school, today is my first day at my new high school. My family just moved here from Kyoto because of my dads work. Tokyo is so huge, I'm sure I'll get lost. I grab my pyjama pants and pull them on, almost falling over in the process. I run out the door and run down the stairs into the kitchen, sliding on the slippery floor that I'm not used to. I crash into the counter and land on my back.
"Oowwwww...." I open my eyes and see an upside down mother in front of me. Or is it behind? She leans down and drops a bag on my nose. It topples on to the floor and I turn my head to look at it. There's a fresh baked muffin inside and a can of coffee. I rub my nose and look at her again.
"Umm, ow? Why'd you drop that on my nose?" She smiles.
"Because you were in such a great position to do that I couldn't resist!" She walks out of the kitchen laughing. My mom is pretty young and acts more like my older sister then my mom. I get up and pick up the bag. I run back upstairs with it and get changed into my school uniform. The little black, white and green plaid skirt looks great on me! Green is definitely my colour. It matches my eyes perfectly. I put on my bra and put on the collared t shirt. I slide my pre-tied tie over my head and tighten it. The tie is black and the collar of the shirt has a green stripe around it. The school emblem is embroidered into the shirt right on top of my boob. I look in my mirror behind my door and brush through my hair quickly. I put on a small bit of make up and then brush my teeth in the bathroom. I grab my book bag and my stockings and shoes and run down the stairs again. I sit on the stairs and pull on the knee high black socks with a white and a green stripe on the top. I stand at the door and pull on my shoes. I shove my indoor school shoes in my bag and run out the door. I stop out front and shout to my mom in the garage. She's underneath a beat up looking car tinkering with something.
"I'm leaving now!"
"Have a good day hon!" She yells, her voice echoing through the car. Unlike most moms that run bakeries or work in big businesses, my mom runs her own auto shop out of our garage. I munch on my muffin as I run down to the city bus stop. It pulls up just as I get there. I over shoot the door and accidentally smack into someone.
"Ah! I'm so sorry!" I say, bowing quickly.
"S'okay." Says a guy's voice. I don't get a look at his face before I get on the bus. I sit at the very back under the large back window and open my can of coffee. The bus pulls away from the curb and I look out the window at the vast city of Tokyo. This is a good way to see the sights of my new home. I take a sip of coffee and nearly choke. I see something out the window, a person. A young girl with bright green hair, not walking, but flying beside the bus! I close my eyes and open them again. She's gone! I hop a couple seats over and look outside. No one in sight. Maybe it was a bird and my eyes were fooling me? I shake my head and take a gulp of coffee. I take out my iPod and unwrap my earbuds from around it. I put them in my ears and stick the iPod in the waistband of my skirt after choosing a playlist. The most popular song from "Uta no Prince sama", 'STARISH 1000% LOVE', blasts in my ears and I can't help but nod my head to the beat. I hear someone pull the cord for the next stop and look outside. The school is coming up fast. I stand and grab my bag and walk carefully to the front. There's a group of other students already standing at the front. A few girls are giggling and gossiping, a couple of boys flirting with another couple of girls and one boy standing alone. I can only see the back of the boy, but I can see that he has a hairstyle that is terribly inappropriate for school. A delinquent maybe? The bus stops and we all file off. I walk past big groups of girls squealing and hugging and boys high-fiving and checking out the new girls. I see a few guys check me out and one even whistles. It's a curse that I have a really great body. I give a small smile and flip my long brown hair back over my shoulder. I walk through the front doors and go to find my small locker. I search all the labels until I find my name. I pull the small key I was given on registration day out of my bag and unlock it. I take off my outdoor shoes and put them in the little cubby and slip on my indoor shoes. I swing my bag up over my shoulder and walk to my home room. I walk in and see a bunch of other students talking and sitting on desks. I see on open spot, a window seat. Perfect. I walk over and sit down, checking out the view from the window. I realize I'm still listening to my music so I turn it off just as someone comes to stand at the desk in front of me. I look up at him. That's the boy that was on the bus. I look at his hair again. He's got long bangs that hang over one eye and a small ponytail. I only saw the ponytail on the bus. His hair is bleached at the tips and black with orange streaks in it. Just as I thought. Inappropriate hair. He stares out the window, not even noticing I'm watching him. I look him over. His tie is hanging loosely from his collar and the top couple of buttons of his shirt are undone. Suddenly his head jerks to the side and he stares into my eyes. I jump when he moves and can't seem to break the eye contact he initiated. His eyes are silver with black and orange flecks in them. They're beautiful but intense.
"It's you." He says.
"I-I'm sorry?" I question. He breaks eye contact and sits backwards on his chair.
"You're the girl at the bus stop." I look at him questioningly.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?"
"No. I'm the one you bumped into." I look down at his shoes, the only part I actually saw of the person I bumped into. Same shoes! I look up at him again.
"Oh you're the one I bumped into! I'm sorry about that. I was kind of in a hurry."
"S'okay. The name's TJ." He says pointing a thumb at himself. "Who are you?"
"I'm Mina. Mina Iyakashi. Nice to meet you TJ." He stares at me for a bit, a weird look on his face. Like he's examining me.
"You're not from around here are you?" He asks. I look at him, a little shocked.
"No I'm not. I just moved here from Kyoto this summer. How'd you know that?"
"I've got a knack for figuring things out about people."
"Hmm. Cool." Just then the signal to stand rings out over the P.A system and we all stand. As we recite the same thing we've all been saying since we were old enough to talk, the sliding classroom door flies open.Hey guys!! Sorry this ends so abruptly. I realized I wrote this first chapter to be like 2 chapters long so I cut the rest out and made it chapter 2. Hope you enjoy this new story of mine and keep reading to find out who came in!!
