Liam turns on a small, flickering light bulb and I slide onto the floor and cradle my head in my hands. "What is this place?" I finally ask Liam and look at him.

He's pacing, and his hair, once neat and gelled, is a mess. "A hiding room." He says and stops his pacing. He looks at me, then starts pacing again.

"Stop!" I exclaim after he keeps pacing. "That's not going to do you any good. Ok?" I ask Liam, who stops. "I want info. Why are we down here? Because of the rebel attacks?" I ask. Liam nods and takes a seat across from me, on the bench near the door.

Now that the lights turned on I can tell whats in this room. A bench by the door, a small bed, a cabinet with food and water, and a bathtub and a change of clothes. Liam starts talking and I turn my attention back to him.

"Outside there's a rebel attack happening, as you can tell. There are two types of rebels. Western and Eastern rebels. The Eastern's kidnap girls and impregnate them. Westerners will just steal as many papers as they can. They're looking for people. Girls, I believe." Liam stands up and starts pacing again.

"Sooo... which rebel group is it?" I ask. Liam stops pacing for long enough to answer me. "We only know till after because of the blood." My mind slowly registers Liam's words and I rest my head against the wall.

My mind comes to life and finally registers the situation. Questions whir through my brain. There are different types of rebel groups, two of them, to be exact. Liam doesn't know which group. The group that kills could find us and kill us. Nobody will care if I die - only my family - but if Liam dies then there's a problem.

"What will happen?" I ask Liam. "So full of questions, are you?" Liam asks me. "Mainly cause I have no info and may or may not die, so yeah." I shrug and act nonchalant.

"If they find us, we die. Which they won't unless they have someone on the inside. If they do, then we die. Yeah. That's what'll happen." Liam is about to say something more but then we hear gunshots and footsteps running past the door.

I suck in a breath and try to be as quiet as I can. Liam walks over and sits down next to me and we wait together for someone to find us and let us out.

Or - the more violent option - the rebels find us and kill us.

50/50 chance.
