I wake feeling too hot. My head is resting on Nathan's chest, my arm over his belly and my leg over his. Victor is pressed up behind me, spooning me. His arm wrapped around my waist and his legs chucked over mine.
I can feel the sweat on my back, legs and arms. I need to move.
Slowly I wiggle onto my back so Victor shifts. I'm used to the guys sleeping with me like this so I know how to get them to move without them noticing that I'm awake.
Victor shifts onto his back like I knew he would, waiting for me to rest my head on his chest but I don't. I slowly crawl to the bottom of the bed, being careful where I step so I don't step on any part of Sean's body.
Getting onto my wobbly feet, I turn back around and look at Nathan and Victor and I can't help but let a small giggle escape me as I find Nathan has now wrapped his legs around Victor's. It's highly laughable and not the first time it has happened.
I step over Sean and Kota and then make my way to the door and slide on my flip flops. I have no idea what time it is but I need some fresh air, so looking back one more time at my boys, I open the door and walk out, closing it quietly behind me.*
Sean POV
I hear movement on the bed but keep down and quiet, not wanting to scare Pookie if she's having another one of her nightmares.
The next thing I know I'm seeing her foot in my line of vision as she steps off the bed. Where is she going? I mentally slap myself. She's a girl. She probably needs to use the bathroom.
I bury my face further in my pillow when I hear a little giggle escape those pretty lips of hers. I try and keep as still as I can even though I'm laughing myself mentally.
I then feel Sang step over me. A few seconds later I hear the door open and close.
I quickly sit up and get to my feet. I find my phone from the floor under my pillow and light up the screen, noting that it's just past three am. I frown but step over Kota myself and go to the door. I look behind me again and to the bed where Sang was and I let out a low chuckle as Nathan wiggles closer to Victor most probably thinking it's Sang. The things you do when you're unconscious.
I step out of the room just as the door to the elevator closes, telling me that Sang most probably just climbed in them.
I go and press the button and decide to wait instead of taking the stairs. There's a reason she sneaked out. What that reason is I don't know but I do know I'm going to follow her and make sure she's okay. All I care about is making sure that she's okay, happy and healthy.
When the elevator comes back up, I step in and press the button for the lobby. Within a few seconds I'm in the lobby. I scan the area for her but don't see her. Going over to the front desk, I ask the night clerk if she had seen her. The girl with black hair nods her head and points over to some doors. "She just went out there to the pool." I thank her and go over to the doors. The closer I get I can see my Pookie sitting there looking out into the water as she sits on the water’s edge with her feet dangling into the water. The lights that are in the pool light up her face. The slight frown on her face and purse of her lips tells me she's deep in thought.
I push open the door and step out into the cool early morning air. Because I don't want to disturb her, I close the door quietly behind me and sit down on one of the chairs and all I do is sit and watch her.
Her hair is gathered to one side, hanging over her shoulder. You can see the slight tan that she got today, her skin looking, fresh, soft and silken. Her finger presses into her teeth as she thinks and like what Nate does I just want to pull them away.
Sitting here though I know that my Pookie is okay. I know that normally if she has a nightmare she brushes her teeth to wake herself up and then she talks to North about them. I wish there was something I could do to take them away but there isn't. I have a rough idea of what the dreams are about but not a great one. North is always writing them down and talking to Owen about them. I listen...when I want to listen. Half the time I don't want to listen because there is nothing I can do to help her.
A slight breeze flows around the courtyard area of the pool and even though my view of her is from the side I'm pretty sure I see a small smile curve on her lips. That smile. I love that smile. I love her. Unconditionally.
"Why don't you come and join me Sean?" Her voice carries over to me without even looking up from the pool. "I hope I didn't wake you."
"You didn't wake me." I say softly. So what if she did? I would have followed her in my sleep. "How did you know it was me?" I get up from my chair and walk over to where she is. I bend down and roll up my pajama pants up to my knees and then sit down beside her, putting my feet into the lukewarm water.
She looks up at me and smirks. "No one's told you?"
"Told me what?"
"Your scent. When the breeze went by your scent carried itself to me."
"Damn. You're like a dog searching for its bone." I tease.
She giggles. "No. Just an ability I guess."
"What did you come down for Pookie?"
She looks down into the water and says. "I was hot. Sometimes when the boys cuddle up to me I get hot and just need some fresh air."
"You seemed lost in thought when I watched you from the door." I tell her.
She shrugs. "Yeah, I've got a few things going on through my head at the moment."
"Want to talk about it?" I offer. I want her to talk to me. I want to know everything there is to know about her.
She turns her head, her beautiful green eyes locking on mine, capturing me, luring me, begging me to keep looking at them, wanting to commit them to memory not that I'll ever forget them anyway. Those eyes captured me the first time I ever saw them. Her eyes start dancing across my face.
Then I remember what Owen said yesterday about her being ready. Is now my chance? Is this moment the right one to tell my Pookie I'm in love with her? Maybe it's a sign for me to tell her as I'm the one who woke up and heard her shuffling off the bed where as none of the others did and I know some of them are lighter sleepers than me.
Bringing my hand up I tuck a strand of her hair back behind her ear, a layer that was cut too short as it just slips back free again. I stroke my thumb delicately, slowly over the skin of her cheek. "Sang."
"Sean." She whispers, her eyes dancing from mine and to my lips. I move forward so I can rest my forehead on hers. I can't kiss her because of the rules but I can tell her I love her and just hope that she kisses me after. "Please, Sean. Kiss me."
My lips immediately go down on hers and she's as sweet as I knew she would be.
