Your POV

Tomorrow night, I have to meet Demi's parents. I'm not gonna lie, I'm nervous about the entire thing but what's the worst that can happen?

"Okay, girl. I'm off the clock." I said to Bianca.

"Alrighty. We're still hanging out tonight, right?" She asked.

"Hell yeah. I'll remind Damien and Alec." I replied as I took off my lab coat.

I hung it around my arm. As I walked out of the door. I haven't seen my friends in a while and I figured that we'd all get together this weekend. Since I haven't seen them in a while, I thought why not? I deserve to go out drinking with my friends and whatnot.

{Later that night}

"Alright, guys, I'm heading out to y'all right now," I said to them on the three-way call.

'Okay, we'll be out front waiting for you.' Alec said.

"Okie dokie."

I took an uber being that Damien said that he wanted to get drinks. Within minutes, I arrived at the bowling alley where we agreed to meet up. I got out of the car and saw them waving and smiling at me.

"There she is!" Alec said to me with open arms.

"It's about time that you hung out with us. Did the master finally give you a break?" Bianca jokes.

"Of course he did. You and I are out of work tonight, right?" I clapped back after hugging Alec.

"I meant your dom, you nut case." She laughed.

"I'm just joshin'. Come on. Let's go get a lane." I said after greeting everyone.

We went inside to get ourselves a lane. When one finally opened up, we started looking for bowling balls. After getting a ball for ourselves we started getting ourselves ready for the game. I sat in between Bianca and Alec as Damien set us up on the computer screen in front of us

"So what's I miss while I was tied up with the missus?"

"Hmm... tied up? Y'all starting like that already?" Damien chuckled as he looked back at me.

"Cute. Cute of you Damien." I grinned.

"But in all seriousness, I don't think you missed much." He said before setting up the last name on the screen. "The new case at my job just got worse."

"Damn. How bad?" I asked.

"Sibling rivalry. Common case." He answered as he got comfortable in his seat.

"Gotcha," I replied as I nodded.

"Should we get something from the snack bar?" Bianca asked.

"That sounds good."

"Oh, which reminds me, I'm having dinner with Demi's parents tomorrow." I randomly blurted out.

Alec, Bianca, and Damien looked at me with shock. I looked around at all three of them to find out what their problem was.

"What?" I shrugged.

"You're doing what?" Alec asked as he slowly sat back down.

"I'm going out to dinner with Demi's parents," I said as if it shouldn't have been a problem.

"Y'all are finally at that stage?" Alec said in disbelief.

"Yeah... is that bad?" I asked in confusion.

"Uh, no, not really." Bianca quickly chimed in.

She had this look on her face as if she wanted to say something but didn't want to say it.
