He stood outside the large building. The hero's tower. Three deep breathes later and he was entering the expensive looking lobby on the first floor. A gentle looking woman greeted him at the front desk before taking his previously signed paperwork and directing him up to the 33th floor for his interview.
As he went up the elevator, he fidgeted nervously with the end of his jacket. A ding sounded out as the elevator opened to reveal quite a few people, all dressed in expensive-looking suits and dresses. Tommy felt extremely underdressed in his simple white t-shirt and red jacket.
As he surveyed the room he noticed a few things. Number one, very person in there looked at least ten years older than him. Number two, they were all snobs. Probably from the sixth, seventh, or eighth district. He figured.
After all, none of the druggies and criminals from his district would want to work at the home of hero's. Tommy continued standing around nervously as he decided what to do next. He eventually realized that most of the people were sitting around on the couches and chairs that were neatly organized around the large room.
There was a little chatter here and there but Tommy could've of rolled his eyes as he realized these people were too stuck up to even speak to each other. Of course. What did he expect? He felt his hopes being shattered as he realized that no one would hire a random sketchy teen from district nine.
Still, he had already quit his job at the coffee shop. A bit of an impulse decision, yes but he really couldn't bring himself to care. Is only hope was getting some sort of job that actually remembered to pay him sometimes. He took a few more breaths as he waited, basking in anxiety.
A few people at a time were called by interns into two other, smaller rooms. Presumably seeing different hero's and being interviewed. One of the things he actually retained from the flier was that this job was to be an assistant to sleepy bois inc. Or sbi for short.
Tommy couldn't help but smile slightly from the fact that he might be able to meet the man he's looked up to since he was six. His smile fades when he remembered why.
He didn't have time to be upset right now though, because his name just got called. "Thomas innt?" A voice spoke. Most likely and intern. Tommy registered the voice for a moment before hesitating to stand up. The confused face of an intern quickly snapped him out of his daze as he stood up and silently walked towards them.
The intern smiled. Tommy smiled back. "Right this way, sir," they spoke clearly. Tommy nodded as he began following the intern to the a closed door. "You're interviewer, Technoblade, top three hero, is waiting for you right through there," the intern continued.
Holy shit. He was being interview by Technoblade! The hero had quite the reputation for being a dense, monotone man. Tommy swallowed and nervously thanked the intern before focusing his attention on the wooded door. The fate of his job lied right on the other side of the door.
Tommy silently wished he could have had any other hero interview him. Why Technoblade? Why? Obviously Tommy had nothing against him, but how was he supposed to impress the coldest man he knew of? (Besides that one guy with a knife on the train, but that's not important right now.)
Tommy took a final deep breath before stepping into the office. There In all of his glory, sat Technoblade. The pinkette gestured to a chair on the other side of the desk before eying Tommy, inquisitively.
The blond boy sat down, even more anxious then he was before. "So, Thomas correct?" Techno began, seemingly bored of having to repeat the same thing to every person who came in. Tommy nodded and added a small "yes, sir," before looking down at the floor. His shoes seemed extremely interesting at the moment.
