Author's POV (Edited)
Kim Minjae, a 19-year-old cashier at a convenience store, didn't have any exciting ideas for the future. Neither parents nor friends existed for her.
She had lived at the orphanage home alone since she was four years old. For the simple reason that she did not want to, she made no friends.
She could only think of King Royi and Queen Vila as her friends.
When Minjae's shift was done, she changed out of her work attire and into her casual attire before leaving the store. She walked on her own by foot from the store to the rented house.
She was used to walking alone in the gloomy lane and wasn't afraid of it.
She washed up when she got home before preparing ramyeon for dinner. While having her dinner, she was exploring social media.
When she saw a girl post that she had finally acquired the ring she had long desired, she paused scrolling. Minjae wondered about herself after seeing her post.
"What do I desire from life? My existence has no purpose. The issue is that I don't know what I want, even if I have enough money to buy anything I want."
Before heading to her room, she finished her ramyeon and cleaned up the mess. She pulled a tiny wooden box from her wardrobe before sitting down on her bed.
The wooden box was in her hand as she sat on her bed. When she opened it, she discovered a necklace with an aquamarine gem set in an extremely unusual oval-shaped locket.
She gently caressed the stone while taking a look at it. "Is it real? Is EnhyLand a real place? Sure, it is. My mother told me that when I was a child, EnhyLand was my favourite story."
"If only mom were still alive, she could retell the EnhyLand story to me,"
As she lay down, she placed the necklace close to her chest and shut her eyes. She recalled her mother telling her the tale of EnhyLand.
'Mysterious location is where "EnhyLand" is located. They are completely unknown to everyone in the world. The region is home to hundreds of mystical species, such as fairies, elves, centaurs, and more.
Additionally, the land was ruled by King Royi and Queen Vila. Peace and harmony prevailed in EnhyLand. Words cannot adequately convey the beauty of the landscape. There is so much charm in it.'
She opened her eyes and pictured her mother. Since that evening, Minjae has only been able to think about EnhyLand.
She searched the internet in order to learn more about the enchanted world her mother had told her about.
She scowled, "Search not found." She groaned and fixed her eyes on the necklace. She questioned herself, "Where in the world did mom discover that place?"
She was filled with questions, but the only person who could know the answers was her mother. Sadly, her mother was no longer present.
The necklace was still on her hand when she awoke the following morning. Repackaging everything in the wooden box, she prepared to go for work.
She Looked up King Royi and Queen Vila while she was at the bus stop but was unable to find them.
"Oh, I forgot. Nobody is aware of their existence. I can't discover anything, which is understandable. Silly me," She told herself that.
She went about her business as usual, and not much happened at work. Despite being extremely busy at work, EnhyLand was tattooed on her head.
She walked to her house as she had on previous nights, and when she got there, she went through her night routine.
"EnhyLand, EnhyLand, EnhyLand. Where on earth is EnhyLand? "She kept asking in her living room as she fixed her gaze on the ceiling.
Little did she realise that as she continued to repeat "EnhyLand," the stone on the necklace began to shine a little.
