The boy's POV
I followed the Aiden guy around the camp for a while as he showed me around. This place is amazing! There was a huge roman style- colosseum with a football pitch in it and yet one kid blew a whistle and the pitch turned into a battle arena! As a history lover, the references to both pre and post roman Britain were enthralling. Even Aiden himself was impressive. He looked like a figure straight out of the King Arthur legends, 6 foot tall and slim yet muscular, with blonde hair and blue eyes.I continued to look around at the huge temples dedicated to every Celtic god and godess. As I walked up to one temple and laid my hand upon it, I heard a unrecognisable sound behind me. It sounded like an energy beam in a video game. I looked back to see a man in a messenger's garb with a staff that had 2 live snakes on it. I immediately registered the similarities to Hermes, but was still surprised when Aiden bowed and knelt down.
' Lord Hermes!' Aiden stated and I stood there arms folded, still wary after my earlier encounters. "Dude this is the god of messengers from Olympus! Kneel!" Aiden whispered. "The Greek gods are real?!" I proclaimed and Aiden looked at me non-plusssed. "After what you've seen today you're still questioning that?!" "Sorry, I'm still in shock I guess" I muttered before kneeling as well. Hermes smiled and beckoned for me to follow as he headed back through the portal.
I followed as did Aiden and soon I found myself in a magnificent throne room. A golden ceiling with the constellations engraved was supported by four marble figures. The room was are with the exception of a hearth and twelve thrones made of gold. Upon each were various figures, figures that I recognised as all the Greek gods. I studied classics at school so I was familiar with various mythologies, but of course the British school system had crammed the Greek and Roman ones down my throat so I was most familiar with the ones that stood before me. I'd always had a favourite Greek deity and I found her sitting alone by the fire. I ignored all the other gods and knelt at her feet. She gazed at me shocked, in the figure of a young girl around my age in the garb of an ancient roman girl but with auburn hair, caramel skin and hazel eyes.
' Why do you bow to Hestia first" A voice boomed. I looked up and saw the voice had come from the central throne. By the thunderbolt he was holding, I figured him to be Zeus. 'She is the most important my lord Zeus. Without hope we would all be lifeless empty beings and I have never been short of hope. I have lady Hestia to thank for that. Also I've always been a fan of the less popular but still equally amazing underdog character." All the gods stared at me stunned, but Athena broke the silence. 'There is a prophecy Legacy and you are needed. Do you acknowledge that you once had shaking fits?' When I nodded she continued. ' It was your body struggling to contain the power within it. We along with other divine figures have hidden them away all your life but now we will free them.' There was a flash of light and I suddenly felt more powerful and vigorous, though I was no different in physical stature.' Bur what about my family lady Athena. I have a life and school and tv shows I'm watching and a Star Wars guild and!' 'We have a solution." Athena interrupted. "Are you familiar with the tale of Ixion" "Uhhh... hold on... I'll get this.. that was the man that slept with a cloud in the shape of Hera right?" Athena looked mildly impressed, "For one not of my blood, your intellect is nothing to make light of". She responded. "We will create a cloud-like copy of you, it will live out your other life regardless of what happens to you and when you dream each night you will relive its memories." "Ok... hey what do you mean regardless of whatever happens to me".
"CHILD!" Zeus boomed. "You have a great destiny ahead of you, but you have heritage from a different part of the world and no Greek blood. Nevertheless you have a mission which concerns our own safety and so we have decided to bless you with some of our power as if you were a "legacy"of one of us. Your own bloodline gives you one natural ability, a berserker state as you will discover later. Thus to fulfil your destiny, you may choose one Olympian as a patron and they will make you their champion."
"Wow that's incredible," Aiden muttered and I honestly had forgotten he was there. "Well I choose Lady Hestia then". "She's not an Olympian!" Ares yelled but I responded just as quickly "Well she damn well should be, she's the oldest here!" Ares fell into silence and Lady Hestia places her hand on my shoulder.
I felt warmth tingle throughout my body and suddenly I lit on fire. ' There has been no one with my power before, so we don't know the extent of your abilities, at least one will be control over fire though." Hephaestus scowled at me but I ignored him.
Zeus then glared at me and I felt lightheaded. ' Your Berseker ability is now fully active, now go, other gods want to see you." I suddenly found myself whisked away and in a different throne room.
