'Wow,' Latios thought in wonder as the eon dragon looked around in the radiant waters of Altomare.
Glancing around the ports, Latios could see the open blue waters of the ocean bordering the city of Altomare. The dragon could see the boats on the horizon, arriving and departing the city. Staring at the clear blue skies, sensing the calm breeze coming from the ocean.
"See, this is the ocean," the voice of a little girl explained.
Looking to his right, Latios could grin as Bianca, said little girl, was carrying a small Latias near her chest. Latios drifted near to the girl to give a better look at his baby sister. The Latias, meanwhile, stared at the ocean with wide eyes, making Latios smile at his little sister, being that this is her first time out to see the ocean.
Latias jerked her body, letting Bianca realize that she wants to move around. Bianca nodded in understanding as she gently positioned the baby dragon on the stone concrete. Once free, Latias started to bounce her way to the ocean.
Latios came behind Latias, inspecting over her in case something were to happen. Latias hopped down a set of stone stairs. Once near the ocean did the Latias look at the water, startled at seeing her reflection. This made Latios chuckle at her expression.
The baby Latias gave a playful swing with her claw, swiping the water. Latias cackled until she suddenly fell into the water, earning a surprised yelp from the Latios. Latios quickly went to where Latias fell but was surprised to see the Latias emerge from the water, laughing as if nothing happened. Latios sighed in relief at seeing the Latias that was unexpectedly swimming and paddling around in circles.
"My, my, it appears that she's enjoying herself," a male voice said aloud.
Looking back, Latios could see Lorenzo, the one who spoke out, stand beside Bianca and observe the scene. Latios nodded in agreement with Lorenzo's statement as he floated close to him. "La," Latios said in its language.
"Yes, she does seem to enjoy it," Lorenzo agreed as if he understood the pokemon.
Latios nodded until it looked at Lorenzo and his granddaughter, Bianca, as he silently thanked them as through the years did they help him raise the young Latias, along with keeping his home a secret to the city.
But unbeknownst to the group the heart of the city, where a hidden haven exists, did a gem begin to pulse and radiate huge amounts of energy.
The Latios stiffened as he felt the energy. Looking at the source did it draw the attention of both Lorenzo and Bianca.
"Latios, is something wrong?" Lorenzo asked, but received no response.
The Latios quickly flew in the direction of the gem, known as the 'Soul Dew'. Lorenzo followed behind, but not before telling Bianca to keep an eye on Latias. Bianca nodded, scared of what was happening, but replaced her scared look into a determined one in her eyes.
With a huff, Lorenzo turned and ran to where Latios was heading. Bianca, now by herself, walked around and waited, all while being nearby Latias. The Latias however was unaware of what was going on as she laughed at how the water was rising and falling, pushing her back and forth.
The Latios flew by the city with ease until it entered the haven, where it then went to the fountain that was holding the jewel. When the dragon arrived, however, it was stunned as the gem was glowing, which Latios has never seen. This was bad as Latios didn't know what to do. How he hoped that it could end soon and that nothing bad will happen. And it will, yet the dragon doesn't know as it floats around the jewel.
The Latias meanwhile, without Bianca knowing, was being carried by the waves. The Latias giggled from the ride, but she heard a scream from Bianca. Turning to the girl did the dragon realize how far she was from the land. With haste did the Latias try to swim back, but the waves were pushing her farther away from land. The Latias let out a shriek of fear as it continued to struggle against the waves but it was in vain.
