It was quiet. Quiet and cold seeped into the cave, even with multiple burners on with bubbling substances in glass containers. Albedo was stationed at the back of his little hobbit hole, near the majority of his book shelves and paper stacks. As he flipped through the books effortlessly his hand landed on one that read "Newest studies".
Once he pulled the book out, he opened it. Flipping through all the filled pages till he landed on the first empty one. Looking at it he cleared his throat while furrowing his eyebrows as he figured out how to word it. Pushing his hair out of his eyes he picked up a pencil and began writing his newest experiment and discoveries, It read:
11/2/****
"The past couple weeks have been used to conduct my newest discovery. Ive been studying the work of Frostarm Lawachurls. Although at first glance they seem almost meaningless, Just another mindless minion for the abyss mage. I figured out one that lives in the coldest area of Dragonspine. He's far too deep into the cave that even I can barely stand the cold. He often is sleeping and doesnt move but he can withstand the cold much better than I had imagined. I've started painting him to understand more, Ive taken samples of blood, fur, saliva, and nasal mucus. The tests are being done to figure out how he can deal with the constant freezing temperature."
Albedo closed the book, sliding it back into its place, opening a drawer and putting the pencil down in its organized spot. He scanned his lab area, Looking at how much of a mess everything else is. The last night or two have been sleepless. His experiments taking up all his time since they need specific care and attention until they're complete.
He walked over to the light blue liquid that was about to boil over, Turning down the heat he opened the drawer below without looking, to pull out some windwheel aster petals. Only to find they arent there. He looked down with a neutral expression, not showing any sign of disappointment or exhaustion. Albedo had gotten very good at covering up his signs of weakness, as it was needed for Alchemy. Especially if he planned to figure out life before he lost himself. With a little sigh he turned all the burners on low, and started packing his bag with books, paper, paints, and much more. He figure while he was in Mondstadt he should get a good look of everything, especially new specimens and ingredients to help him preform his alchemy. Grabbing his extra jacket, he pulled it on. Looking back before exiting to make sure everything is okay once more, He left swiftly. Disappearing into the white blizzard of snow.

Sucroses POV
I was in Albedos old lab, conducting my latest experiment of bone marrow! Although this was beginner stuff I decided to take a little while to go back on it. I smiled to myself, While studying the bone closely- That is until the door slammed open.
"SUCROSE- WE NEED ALBEDO. SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH KLEE."
A guard spoke in a deep loud voice, I jumped at the door and watched Huffman speak in a rush. Something wasnt right at all...
I quickly took the information in my head before responding.
"M-Mr. Albedo is all the way up in Dragonspine, It'll take at least a d-day Mr. Huffman are you sure there isnt anything I c-can do?"
He shook his head quickly, his face creasing with worry and sadness.
"Sucrose, this isnt anything we've seen before. It's so much worse. Albedo will surely know what to do please. We need him now."
I slowly nodded before grabbing a bag. Packing much needed items of clothing and protection from the cold winds of Dragonspine. One of the guards ran by the door but Huffman called out to him, Stopping him for any information he had since he was one of the guards who patrolled near Windrise. The two spoke before I heard the guards mention a blond boy with shoulder length hair.
"A blonde boy with shoulder length hair? What was he wearing?"
Huffman spoke in quick sentences, they almost slurred together at how fast his voice was.
"Uh- He had a white coat on, a very fluffy one, Blue eyes-"
Huffman looked at me as I was watching the two talk. He nodded towards me and I nodded back, setting down my bag and taking off my extra layer of coat. I pushed past the two quickly as they made their way towards Master Jeans office.
Albedos POV
It was peaceful, The moon rising slowly, the sky clear. This would be a perfect place to paint...
"Ill write this down in my notes."
I whispered quietly to myself as I circled the big oak tree. The windwheel aster flowers were scattered around, I picked them up gently as I saw them. Placing them in my bag along with any crystal flies. I took note of the way the grass moved and the dry dirt as I took the path to the Mondstadt gates slowly. I breathed in, taking off my winter jacket. It was much warmer here than I had initially thought. I dont do so well with heat as I do the cold. The air was crisp with no humidity to it. It was the perfect type of night to sleep under the blanket of the sky. The protection of the moon.
Sleep... Sleep sounded wonderful at a time like this.
I looked around the path, watching the birds, frogs, and other animals scurry under the stars. I havent seen many animals in awhile. This was surely going to be a nice break, but I couldnt quite shake off the thought that something wasnt right. I opened my bag and took out the book I had previously wrote in. Writing down notes of Mondstadt that I'd surely want to remember. Writing down good places to paint and where possible camps of hilichurls and such are.
"MR. ALBEDO-"
The faint yell had knocked me out of my thoughts and I looked up, closing my book putting it back. I smiled hearing Sucroses voice, It had been awhile. My pace quickened a bit at her presence. My smiling quickly faded though with her face of anxiety and worry made its way in my view.
"Sucrose?"
I said rather quietly, more to myself than her as she approached me out of breath.
"MR ALBEDO, SOMETHINGS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH KLEE."
She huffed out, bending over with her hands on her knees to catch her breath. Hearing her say that caught me off guard and I felt everything around me go out of view except for the outline of Mondstadt in my view ahead. I felt like everything was crashing down around me. The sound of the river near the oak tree seemed to get louder. The leaves rustling in the wind got noisier. Sucroses breathing got heavier. The air suddenly felt terribly heavy. Disgusting even.
Something was wrong with Klee. Klee, The only thing I had left.
I took off sprinting towards Mondstadt with all my strength, Sucrose calling behind me but her voice didnt register. I couldnt hear anything but my own heartbeat and the sound of my feet hitting the ground. My bag hitting heavily against my hip as I ran, My hair getting tangled with the wind, My coat behind me waving at how fast I was traveling.
Is this what panic feels like?
