PLEASE READ:

I didn't like the chapter I posted before so I kept some of it (by that I mean most of it) but changed half way throughish. Just thought I should let you know if you have already read the original chapter so you don't waste your time rereading this thing. If you have, just skip to the second '..**X**..' ^.^ Thank you!

..**X**..

I turned to face him, my cheeks still burning.

"You seriously need to stop with this whole 'holding my wrist thing'. It's super annoying." I announced.

"That's the only reason I do it."

"You sadist." I spat.

He only found that amusing and released my hand, much to my surprise. I was expecting more physical contact and him teasing me but no - that was a relief. Instead, I felt as though he was studying my face very thoroughly which I found extremely creepy.

"Where's your Mum?" I asked to stop him from staring at me.

He blinked a few times and said, "She's gone grocery shopping and should be back soon. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you but she's leaving today for more shifts."

"Oh, ok. It's a shame I'll be stuck with you then. Oh yeah, you never told me about your Dad, Shay." I said, suddenly remembering.

"What is it with you and asking a million questions? Can't you just mind your own business for once?" He snapped.

"God! What went up your arse?" I said and immediately regretted it.

"Well, If you really want to know-"

I leaped forward, covering his mouth with my hand and managed to have him against the wall. From what I could see, this was a cliché scene pulled right of some Indian movie but it was probably much different in Shay's point of view.

"Oooh, getting touchy, are we?" His muffled voice came from behind my hand as he wiggled his eyebrows.

As I attempted to move away from him, I felt Shay's hand on my back, pushing me towards him. Just as I had thought there would be no physical contact for the day, he - as always - managed to prove me wrong. Shay was never going to change his ways and that was obvious.

"Um Shanaya?" He whispered right in my ear, giving me goosebumps all over.

"Hm?"

"Please, don't have a heart-attack, I won't know what to do and you're most probably gonna end up dying." He said.

"Should have been paying attention a year ago when we had that CPR lesson, then, shouldn't we?" I retorted.

He allowed me to move back so I had at least 50% of pseronal space but held me by my shoulders so I couldn't escape.

"So you don't deny it?" He quirked up an eyebrow, "I do have an effect on you."

"Huh? As far as I know, if you like someone, they don't give you a heart-attack so I hate to break it to you, but no, you don't have any effect on me." I lied.

"Well, Mrs Smarty-Pants, have you ever liked anyone?"

"None of your business." I said, tapping my nose twice and finally shrugging his hands off my shoulders.

"Oh really?" He grinned, his eyes twinkling with something I couldn't decipher.

"Yeah, and don't get your hopes up, I wouldn't like you even if you were the last guy left in the world."

"Sure you wouldn't," he looked at his watch then back at me, "I have to go but I'll see you around, lover-girl."

He was gone before I could say anything, leaving me on my own in the hall. Seeing as I had nothing to do and no homework to complete, I decided it would be a good idea to go visit Rishi.
