A strange cold chill blew across the small twigs and branches of the old cypress tree.  Sheena kicked her small fairy toes as she slowly rolled to her side.  With a small yawn, she opened one little eye and peaked into the still children's room.  The gentle sound of snores whistled from the bassinet.  "Macy... yo Macy."

"Stop trying to steal my sugar plums," Macy shouted, her mind still stuck in the middle of being a sleep and not.

"Shut up you pyramid," Sheena responded, kicking Macy hard in her side.  "Wake yourself up, you pyramid face.

Macy tumbled over the side of a branch, landing on the top of Epeboc's head.  Thankfully the hum of a child's soft snores, had kept him sound asleep.  "Bla bla... it's an attack," Macy said coughing up a face full of baby hair.  Sheena just giggled from above, as Macy scanned around her perimeter, looking for an enemy.  "Hey Sheena, why did you kick me," Macy finally asked with a puzzled expression upon her face, looking up to the other fairy.

"Macy, you are soo... dumb when you wake up," The Nymph giggled.  "Anyways... did you open a window or something?  it's cold in here."

"No, but your right.  It does feel colder than usual," Macy commented as she started gliding around the room trying to find the origin of the bitter draft.  She continued on her path till it led her to the basement door.  And while the little Nymph had been curious only minutes before,  she now stood frightened...  and even more curious.  Macy's face locked onto the door

The basement door that had once been fastened shut by Michael, was now pried open.  A strange deathly aura rose up and out of the stair way, through a crack that now had been opened.

"What do you have...," Nyx asked, but was cut off half sentenced.

"Ahh..." Macy jumped, not having expected the voice of her young friend.  "Why is everyone picking on me today," Macy commented back crossing her arms in front of her.

"Quiet little one, and show me what your hiding." Nyx ordered softly to her small companion.

"Ooo your so busted.  Send her to a corner, Nyx... make her stare at the wall, while wearing a pyramid on her head," Sheena said tauntingly at Macy.

"Wasn't me," Macy shouted.  "I didn't do anything... this time.  I promise."

"Both of you, quite now," the little girl demanded, while stomping her foot on the ground.  "I know it wasn't you Macy. This is my brother Gabriel's work."  Nyx said as she paused away from the door.  "He came to pay me and Epeboc  a visit, earlier within the night.  "However, after he kissed me back to sleep, I heard something weird.  It was the voice of two different children that I haven't met before... I had told myself it was only a dream and fell back to sleep."

Nyx walked up to the door cordially, rubbing her hand over the knob. Once again a cold gust rose out from a split between the back of the door.  The child peered into the basement, every sense on high alert for danger.  Carefully Nyx fitted herself between the thin crack.  "Who is brave enough to go with me," the goddess asked with a dark grin standing with one foot outside the basement entrance.

"I...I don... don't know if we should do that.   Something feels very very wrong," Sheena replied standing behind the heal of Nyx's black boot.

"Don't be a chicken shit, Sheena.  I thought you were the bravest Nymph ever," Nyx said playfully enticing her friend.

"I think I'm with Sheena on this one," Macy commented, staying a safe distance aside.

"Gosh, you both are such baby birds.  Fine, I promise to give you both something bright and shiny, once you have reached the bottom. do we have a deal?"  Nyx, waved her last two silver coins as she slowly stepped backwards.
