Gabby's pov:
"TEENY!" I shouted into the phone, "get up!" I rolled my eyes, my best friend was not a morning person. There was a shuffling and groaning sound from the other end of the line, "fine! I'm coming but I'm choosing what we do today!"I nodded before realising she couldn't see me and saying, "ok sure, meet you at the Sandlot in twenty minutes!" I told her.
"Why do we have to meet there! I don't want to watch you're brother okay baseball today!" Teeny complained."Neither do I Teens but it's really close to both our houses and a good place to meet up." I explained. "Ok fine! See you there!" Teeny replied giving in.
"See you then!"
I got dressed into my favourite shirt and dark blue, just above the knee cuffed shorts along with my blue PF flyers. ^^ see brunette in the picture above: that's Gabby
My brother to my not so great surprise had already left to go play ball with his friends, baseball nerd honestly. My breakfast was short and I left my mother a note saying I'd be spending the day with Teeny.
Allan or Yeah-yeah as he liked to be called, didn't have to leave a note, he was always in the same place anyways: the Sandlot. I got my bike from the garage and then started cycling to the sandlot. Teeny wasn't there yet so I sat down in the dung out.
"What do you want Gab?!" My brother called as he swung his bat to hit Kenny's heater. I raised my eyebrows, "can I really not sit here and watch my brother play without having to want something?"
"No, not really." He replied getting ready to swing again. I laughed at him, "well I don't want anything I'm waiting for Teeny if you really need to know." I answered spotting my friend at the gate.
"GABBY!" Teeny yelled, "come here! I wanna goooooo!" She jumped up and down waving me over. (The blonde in the picture above is Teeny, that's what she's wearing as well)
I hopped off the bench in the dugout and then started walking towards her, "Gab where are you going?!" He called. I rolled my eyes at my brother jeez I wasn't a four year old anymore he was almost as bad as my mother!
"I don't know yet, not that it's any of your business!" I replied folding my arms, Allan shot me a pointed look, I sighed. "I really don't know! Teeny's deciding!"
He turned to Teeny who cackled and then smirked, "I don't answer to you McLennan, so I guess you'll have to survive hoping your sister has good judgment."
Allan glared at her,and motioned for Bertram to say something, he opened his mouth to argue with Teeny. She cut him off, "I don't answer to you either Bertie, you're my cousin not my fucking Dad!"
Benny glared at us, "if you have somewhere soo important to be then leave! You're holding up the game!" He snapped. I glared back at him, and shot him and my brother my middle finger, Teeny echoed the gesture.
Then she grabbed me by the arm and the two of us cycled off down the road. When we rode past my house I could see a family unpacking their car, there were two kids with them. A girl and a boy, both blonde and around our age.
We waved at them and they waved back smiling, then we cycled further down the road and over to the cafe. We locked our bikes against the post and walked inside.
Ten minutes later.....
"One Banana milkshake and one Strawberry smoothie please." I said smiling at the waitress.
Mary - the waitress- grinned at us, "good to see you again girls, anything else?"I was about to shake my head when Teeny interrupted and asked for "a true crime magazine please!"
Mary nodded and then went to the kitchen, a couple minutes later she returned with our drinks and our magazine.I sipped on my smoothie watching Teeny flick through, she gasped, "GABBY! Look at this!" She crewed out shoving the magazine in my face. I pushed it back a bit and then read the article.
Murder in San Fernando valley:
On Friday the 5th of June Helena Bartley was stabbed in a club called Club Stellar, witnesses and close friend of the victim Wendy Peffercorn stated, "we heard a scream from the dance floor and went to see what happened and then we saw Helena lying there blood pooling out of her heart! It was horrible!"I felt a pang of sadness, I knew Wendy, and although we weren't friends, I couldn't help but feel bad about Helena's death. But the worst part was some one had been murdered in my town which means it could happen again!
"Shit!" I muttered handing the magazine back to Teeny who was gleefully sipping on her smoothie. "Teens! At least try to look sad, I thought Helena was in you're class you knew her!"
Teeny nodded having the decency to look a little sad before continuing, "yes but we barely talked, it's like if that girl we saw, the new one who just moved here, if she died you'd be sad but not very cause well you didn't have any connection to her!" Teeny protested.
I rolled my eyes at her, "you have no shame." She shrugged, "I know. But I I've thought if a way we could honor the body!" She said grinning, a mischievous glint in her eye.
I groaned, "no! Teeny NO!" But it just made her grin even more, "yes! Come in how cool would that be!"
I shook my head , "Teens we are not going to do this!"She smirked, "yes we are, I know you want to!"
I sighed, "Fine, so how do you plan on doing this?"
She clasped her hands together exitedly, "well for starters,".....
