MINHA'S GROANED, FEELING a striking pain in her head as her face scrunched in discomfort. She slowly opened her eyes, squinting them as she adjusted to the light.
She gasped when she realized she wasn't at home anymore. It wasn't the comforting and warm living room that welcomed her. It was now a dark room with a single light bulb placed just right above her.
She stood up only to fall down on the floor, head first.
"OW! FUCK!" She looked down to see that she was tied up on a chair. Her legs tightly against the legs of the chair while her hands were tie behind it.
"Awake, darling?"
The door opened to reveal the very same man that snuck in her house. His smiling face made her blood boil and oh, how she loved to punch that pretty face.
"Park Sunghoon." She said through gritted teeth, her eyes glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill, the said man would have been dead by now. "Aw, is that how you greet your ex?" He smiled with such mischief and slyness.
"Fuck you!"
"Oh, such dirty words for a pretty girl." He pouted before crouching down at her level and held her chin, tilting his head to the side.
"Oh Minha, if only that detective didn't tell you about your father. You could have been cuddling with your boyfriend right now." He mocked a pout before chuckling like a maniac.
"Why are you here? Why are you working for that damned Mayor?!"
"Baby, the real world is cruel. I'm just trying to get a free ride." He shrugged before harshly releasing her chin.
The door suddenly opened, revealing the man that she saw that particular day in school.
"Mayor Park." She clenched her jaw. Seeing the man that was responsible for her father's death lit a flame in her. She was angry— disgusted even.
"Ah, the daughter of Choi Hansik. Man, that detective was nosy as fuck." He laughed sinisterly before looking at her dead in the eyes.
They held eye contact, the small and struggling girl glaring at him while he stared at her with a blank expression written on his face. He scoffed before gesturing his men to place her properly back up.
"So, let's get to business." He said, bringing a chair in front of the girl and sat on it with crossed arms against his chest.
"You have two choices. You keep your mouth shut or else—"
"Or else what?!"
SMACK!
A loud smack was heard. The girl's face now facing sidewards as her cheeks reddened. The Mayor stood up, walking behind her before pulling her hair.
"YOU WILL NOT INTERRUPT ME WHEN I'M SPEAKING!"
Minha could only whimper, the pain of her hair being pulled harshly felt degrading and painful to her. Her eyes welled up and the thought of going home didn't seem like a bad idea to her.
