We Love You, Mikey (Oneshot)

Their Sunshine

Mikey shifted in the bedsheets, tossing and turning. The cast on his body was stiff and made it hard to move. But, the poor turtle wasn't sleeping soundly. He was shaking shaking his sleep from a nightmare.

Nightmare sequence activated:

Mikey gasped in shock. He'd done it again. He'd messes up. He didn't mean to, really. It just...happened. He had gone into Donnie's lab to see what the genius turtle was up to.

And, in the process, Mikey had tripped, fallen and knocked over a set of chemicals which promptly exploded, sending smoke billowing throughout the lair. The turtles and Splinter coughed and choked.

"Hamato Michaelangelo!" Leo yelled through a fit of coughing. "You screwed up again, she'll for brains!" Raph hit Mikey hard on the head. "You useless brother, you're always messing up!" Donnie added.

Mikey yelped in pain and surprise, feeling tears well in his baby blue eyes. "I-It was an accident! I-I didn't mean t-to!" He pleaded with his brothers who ignored him.

"Michaelangelo, you have gone too far! We cannot have our safety endangered because of your carelessness and stupidity!" Master Splinter spoke loudly, scaring Mikey.

"I-I'm sorry papa, but I didn't mean to mess up! You've got to underst-" He was cut off. "No, you need to understand! You're a bother, not a brother! We don't need you!" Raph snapped, face as red as his mask.

"B-But I-" Mikey was cut off again. "Shut up, bonehead!" The three brothers picked up Mikey and dragged him out of the lair. Splinter followed close behind, smirking. Mikey screamed, begging for them to stop.

They dragged him to the woods. "Hey Black Widow, he's all yours!" Leo shouted into the night. "No! She's dead!" Mikey squeaked. "No I'm not you fool, you're too useless and weak to defeat me!" Black Widow came out.

"Have fun and don't go easy on him!" Donnie threw Mikey over to her. "Good riddance, screw up!" Raph added. "We don't need you!" Donnie smirked. "Never return!" Splinter added with a cold glare at Mikey.

"We hate you, Michealangelo!" They all screamed as Mikey sobbed his poor little heart out. The last thing thing saw was the Black Widow getting closer and closer...

End of nightmare:

Mikey woke up with a scream, sobbing. His breath hitched as tears bubbled out of his eyes and flowed down his cheeks. His hest threatened to beat out of his plastron and he was shaking so hard the bed shook.

"J-Just a dream, just a d-dream..." Mikey whispered to himself, rubbing his eyes aa he sobbed. That nightmare was the worst he'd ever had. And it felt so real, too. Mikey couldn't stop shaking. Or crying.

Suddenly, the door swung open. "Mikey/Michaelangelo!" Leo, Raph, Donnie and Splinter burst into the room. Mikey jumped in surprise with a yelp. "H-Huh...?"

"Are you okay? We heard you scream!" Leo sat by Mikey who gulped, trying to hide his tears. "And we heard ya whimpering in your sleep." Raph added. Mikey sighed.

"I'm fine guys, really." He lied. He didn't want to bother his family with his nightmare. Besides, what of it came true? The young turtle tried to stop shaking. "No you're not..." Donnie shook his head.

"I agree with your brothers Michaelangelo, please tell us what is wrong..." Splinter coaxed, worried for his youngest son. Mikey shook his head, feeling more tears full his already red and puffy eyes.

"I-I'm fine, it was n-nothing..." He lied again. They all frowned. "Mikey, you know you can tell us anything, don't you otouto...?" Raph asked gently. "Y-Yeah..." Mikey nodded with a bareky audible whisper. He was shaking more now.

"Please tell us what is wrong..." They all said gently as they held Mikey who couldn't take it anymore. He burst out crying. "I-I messed up a-again and you a-all hated me and a-abandobed me with B-Black Widow...!" Mikey sobbed harshly.

The turtle's eyes widened as Splinter frowned. "Oh my son..." They immediately took Mikey in their arms, rocking him and bring careful of his still-healing injuries. Mikey cried against them, sobbing.

They just gently held him, humming softly and rocking him until he calmed down. "Shh, we'd never do that to you baby brother..." Raph nuzzled Mikey lightly.

"Yeah, we could never abandon you...we love you too much to do that..." Leo said softly. "Besides, she's dead and can't hurt you anymore..." Donnie added gently.

"Michaelangelo, you are our sunshine...you make us all laugh and smile, and because of that, we love you...we would never, ever think of hating or abandoning you, no matter what..." Splinter told him.

Mikey slowly calmed down, listening to them and their purring. "R-Really...?" He asked. "Really, buddy..." Donnie said as they all cuddled Mikey close and protectively, holding him close to their chests.

Mikey cuddled up to his family with a smile. He wasn't shaking or crying anymore. "T-Thank you guys...I love you all so much..." He purred along with his family.  "We love you more, Mikey..." They said.

Mikey grinned from ear to ear. He then noticed his family getting into into with him. "What are you dudes doing?" Raph smiled. "What's it look like? We're sleeping here tonight for old times sake..."

Mikey smiled. They used to do this all the time when they were younger. Soon, Mikey was surrounded by his father and brothers who loved him unconditionally, no matter what, because he was their sunshine.

"Goodnight bros, papa...I love you guys." Mikey smiled warmly. "Goodnight, Michaelangelo/Mikey...we love you more Sunshine..." They all purred softly in the night, feeling safe, warm and content.

Mikey slept soundly that night, because he knew his family would never leave him or hate him. They loved him oh so much and he loved them, no matter what. And they'd always have this strong bond...

Because he was their sunshine...
